what is a person's core ability?

Life Growth Guide

By David LeePublished 2 years ago 3 min read

In the dead of night, have you ever thought about what is a person's core ability?

You may feel confused, learn a skill, and think that society is in great need of talents like you, but find that the school has not taught you how to make money

But for students in scarce majors, they can live a relatively prosperous life after completing their studies, but it is definitely not considered a developed life.

Including the famous doctors, lawyers, and programmers you often hear in TV dramas, they are such a class.

But if you are very unfortunate and enter a profession that has been transferred, you may take this path and have problems with food and clothing.

And Zhang Xuefeng, who attempted to intervene in everything, was also criticized by vested interests

So back to the topic, how do we explain core competitiveness?

In terms of image, I prefer to use the observation ability of Sherlock Holmes, which can restore the whole picture with just a little detail.

You can also quote the godfather's sentence - people who see the essence in one second have a different natural fate than those who spend half their lives not seeing the essence of a thing .

I will summarize the books I have read on self-discipline and growth, and find that the differences between people are mainly caused by the differences in the following four abilities:

1. Ability to collect information: Can I obtain more information than others?

2. Accuracy and foresight of judgment: Can one make more accurate and far-reaching judgments than others with similar information?

3. Layout ability: Is it possible to imagine, design, and calculate better strategies within a limited amount of time, with similar information and judgment?

4. Efficiency and Persistence of Execution: Can strategies be efficiently and continuously executed?

You can call the first ability "information ability", the second ability "judgment ability", the third ability "planning ability", and the fourth ability "execution ability".

In situations where fundamentals are similar, the gap between people mainly comes from the differences in these four abilities

The obvious gap in each ability is enough to open up at least one small social class

If there are shortcomings in the first ability, people can easily fall into a state of "blind eye", unable to see opportunities or choose the wrong direction

Do you think you missed Taobao in 2005, Tmall in 10 years, Pinduoduo in 16 years, and Tiktok e-commerce in 20 years

If there is a weakness in the second ability, it will determine a person's fate at critical moments, and they may even be unable to judge enemies, friends, opportunities, and traps, and may encounter painful failures

You can see now that there are still people who equate entrepreneurship with opening a store, and some still persist in joining, not calculating the input-output ratio, so they have wasted the entrepreneurial funds they saved in the past decade

If there is a weakness in the third ability, you will fall into a rut and lose the ability to seize opportunities, but the loss is relatively minimal

If there is a weakness in the fourth ability, you may be arrogant, ambitious, but talented, and ultimately may not achieve anything

You may not know that there is a type of entrepreneur who speaks in theory, but always lacks the courage to bow down and get involved

It is undeniable that there should be a rough blueprint before starting the job, but if we cannot get rid of the misconception of 'not yet ready', we will fall into a cycle of 'lack of feedback - inability to self iterate'

Without obvious weaknesses, as long as you have one or two strengths, you can basically create your own world. Now follow this framework to improve your abilities
