The HolyGhost 101
The ministry of the HolyGhost explained

You've given your life to Christ and you want to be baptized with the HolyGhost?
You can receive Him right there in your room, I assure you.
However, first you must understand that you already have the HolyGhost inside of you, if you're genuinely born again.
Yet, this is quite different from being "baptized with the HolyGhost."
Did you know that the disciples had already received the HolyGhost inside of them before the day of pentecost?
Surprised, right?
Oya let's check the scriptures..
Jesus said again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, in the same way I am now sending you.’ When he had said this, he breathed on them. He said, ‘Receive God's Holy Spirit.-John 20:21-22 EASY
What you saw in that scripture transpired before the day of Jesus' ascension.
Meanwhile, pentecost happened 10 days after the ascension.
So what's the difference?
And why do you need to be baptized in the HolyGhost even after receiving Him the day you got born again?
Just follow me
The baptism of the HolyGhost is no different from water baptism except that the medium here is substituted.
The HolyGhost is used instead of water.
John says, I baptized you with water but the One that comes after me will baptize you with the HolyGhost and with fire.
The ministry of the HolyGhost therefore is dualistic as seen in scriptures.
1) The ministry of the HolyGhost within us.
And
2) The ministry of the HOLYGHOST without (upon us).
The ministry of the HolyGhost "within us" is initiated by your "new birth" experience and produces in you the FRUIT of the HolySpirit as seen in Galatians 5:22. (Love, joy, peace ....)
On the other hand, the ministry of the HolyGhost "without (upon us)" which is initiated by a HolyGhost baptism produces the GIFTS of the HolySpirit as seen in 1 Corin 12. (Word of wisdom, knowledge, faith, miracles, healing, tongues and so on).
This is why you can be born again, yet you don't manifest the gifts of the Spirit, even though you express the fruit of the Spirit.
The Baptism of the HolyGhost is for the purpose of ministry- to witness for Christ. (Acts 1:8).
You receive supernatural power upon the baptism of the HolyGhost to do things for the kingdom you naturally would not do.
Its amazing how that Peter would still go back to his fishing business after the death of Christ.
But not after the HolyGhost baptism.
You just cannot be normal after being baptized.
And guess what, you can be baptized over and over.. (see Acts 2:1 and Acts 4).
Paul says in Eph 5:18
"Be not drunk with wine wherein in excess, but be ye filled with the HolyGhost"
Kaya..!
You will notice in several places in the new testament phrases like..
And Peter FULL of the HolyGhost spoke,... And Paul full of the HolyGhost did this and that..
This implies that you can actually not be full, and when you are not full, you will not perform optimally in ministry.
In scriptures, the disciples of Jesus would always return to their company, lock themselves in a room to pray until they were full.
You see why it's not just enough to be born again?
Being born again makes you eligible to enter God's kingdom, but being baptized by the HolyGhost empowers you to to be useful to God in fulfilling your God given ministry or assignment on earth.
In other words, The ministry of the HolyGhost WITHIN you gives you power over sin (as a child of God), but the ministry of the HolyGhost UPON you gives you power for ministry (as a functionary).
You Follow?
YOU MAY ASK..
Is it possible for the HolyGhost to "come upon man" who is not born again?
Yes! you will notice in scriptures where..
Elizabeth full of the HolyGhost prophesied, Zacharias the father of John the Baptist prophesied also upon being full of the HolyGhost, prophetess Anna and a host of others did one or two remarkable things upon being full of the HolyGhost.
Even in the old testament, you will see phrases like.. and the spirit of the Lord came upon Samson (for example)...
Were all those people Born again?
No!
All those incidence were before the day of pentecost.
But the point is, the ministry of the HolyGhost UPON a man makes that man do things that transcends their natural abilities.
Without the baptism of the HolyGhost, you will keep being that timid, frail, fearful person you have always been like Peter before His baptism.
However, you must know that the baptism of the HolyGhost "upon" does not cover for your human flaws or weaknesses.
That is why you see some "great" men of God doing unspeakable things. Yet, they still heal the sick, prophecy and raise the dead.
It is the ministry of the HolyGhost "within" you that helps you to build character. Helps you work on your weaknesses.
This is because you can be HolyGhost baptized, yet without character.
You can be so anointed, yet not make it to heaven.
Jesus told those guys that said.. "in your name we casted out devils, we wrought miracles..." and so on to depart from Him because although they were anointed, they did not submit to the ministry of the HolyGhost within them. (Matt 7:22-24)
You must be careful never to neglect the ministry of the HolyGhost "within" you.
The bible says, any branch that does not bear fruit will be cut down.
The "FRUIT" referred to in that scripture is not about winning souls or doing miracles.
The fruit in that context speaks of "obedience to God's Word" which results from our yielding to the ministry of the HolyGhost within us.
It speaks of Love as the root (the summary of the whole law).
So, your baptism is a waste if in the end you won't make heaven because of your practice of lawlessness (iniquity).
Now, someone may ask..
"How can I receive the HolyGhost?"
That's a good question.
It is seen in scriptures that the disciples prayed Him into their lives. (Acts 1:14-2:1)
At other places in scriptures, the HolyGhost fell of His own accord upon some as they heard the Word of God. (Acts 10:44)
Yet also, the scriptures tells how that the HolyGhost fell upon some by the laying on of hands. (Acts 19:6)
So there are three ways from scriptures.
1) Prayer of faith.
2) Spoken Word of God. (God's word is spirit and life).
3) Laying on of hands.
You can receive the HolyGhost baptism by making a prayer of faith, right there in your room.
Pray, "Dear Lord Jesus please baptize me with Your HolyGhost, my heart is open and ready to receive Him now"
Remember, it is Jesus who baptizes us with the HolyGhost and with fire.
Jesus the Baptist.
