Is there a "right" way to teach something?
These past few weeks, I’ve been looking up a lot of tutorials both about programming and about teaching programming to people. It made me ponder upon learning and teaching and about the latest evolutions with respect to pedagogy.

WHY I TEACH-Part 8: A Simple Question
I repeated my rules presentation for second period and headed to my first subbing assignment. I found the sub packet on the teacher’s desk. It contained a handout with four questions and a note, “Thanks so much for subbing! My flight was delayed. Please have the students fill out the handout.”

The Standards Movement is Garbage
I’m starting nursing school in the fall of 2022, but in the meantime I’m working on completing a minor in psychology, which has been my favorite subject for as long as I can remember. To me, the way the human mind develops over the course of the lifespan is absolutely fascinating, and, although I don’t yet have my degree, from what I’ve learned so far about human development, I know that kindergartners are simply not developmentally ready for standardized testing. “But, Celia,” you might say, “everyone knows that about kindergartners.” Well, friend, that’s what I thought too, so you can imagine my shock when I learned that, until recently, and maybe even still, kindergarten students were, in fact, being evaluated via standardized testing. Clearly, the people in charge don’t care that “the results of a standardized test at the kindergarten level have only a 50-50 chance of being accurate,” as it seems that they just want to test the kids (Miller & Almon, 2009). However, I do not place the blame on the schools. Every teacher I’ve had the pleasure of knowing is, at best, dissatisfied with the current state of the education system. I believe the party at fault to be none other than the standards movement.

Why I Kept Teaching After Being Sprayed With Human Piss
The child's face was beyond gleeful. His grin had that manic quality, the kind of expression I recall having at that age while running through sprinklers or being chased at recess. Unbounded joy, mischief and something electric, the experience of being utterly alive and free and no one could stop me.

Guitar Classes - How to Find a Good Guitar Teacher Singapore?
The right guitar teacher Singapore should be enthusiastic about teaching. They should be willing to adapt their teaching style to your musical preferences. You should be able to pick up new styles of music in as little as four lessons. Students should be able to move quickly between chord shapes. They should also feel comfortable with the instructor's manner and personality. A good guitar teacher Singapore should be proud of what they do. They will assign exercises that will help you improve in areas where you're weak.
