India is about to launch Chandrayaan-3 The cost of this mission is Rs. 615 crores This is ISRO's most difficult mission to date In 2019, when Chandrayan-2 was launched, we made a video about that In the comments of that video, people started asking the question: Why is it important to spend money on ISRO? Solve the problem of poverty in the country first. What difference does it make to India if we go to space? In today's video, we'll know why India wants to go to the moon for the third time. What have we learned from past mistakes and how have we improved? And what are the objectives of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and what are the mission objectives? In scratch to employment batch. Chapter 1: Why is Chandrayaan important? Chandrayaan is important not only for India's space program but also for India's economy. Why? Let's learn about it in this video Often when we watch a space documentary, it seems that the moon is not far from the Earth, but the truth is there is a huge distance between the moon and the earth that all the planets of our solar system can fit in between. The Moon is very far We have explained that in this video Moon is not just a satellite but a geopolitical milestone. When we talk about the moon landing, we see images of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in front of our eyes but very few people would know before America landed the moon, USSR reached the moon with Luna-2, that too 10 years before the Apollo 11 missions. Of course, Russia has never sent humans to the moon, but it was the first to reach the moon. There are only three countries in the world that have done soft landing on the moon, America, Russia, and China. A soft landing means a safe landing, that is, the spacecraft should be safe after landing. This soft landing is very important because once we prove that ISRO can execute a soft landing, then we can take up important international space projects. NASA is doing projects like this today and earning a huge sum of money We can take a few projects too We definitely reached the moon in 2008 through Chandrayaan-1, but it was a Moon Impact Probe that did a hard landing. Four years ago, Four years ago, the main objective of Chandrayaan-2 was to execute a soft landing on the moon. Chandrayaan's launch was successful, in fact, we successfully completed the distance of 3,84,400 km from Earth to the Moon, but while landing inspite of being only half a kilometer away from the surface of the moon we could not land due to a software glitch . The plan was that Vikram Rover would study the Moon's surface for 14 days and send us the information, but the mission was left incomplete due to the failure of communication devices. Now Chandrayaan-3 wants to rectify this mistake. This is a golden opportunity for India to show our improved technology to the world. We will learn about all these improvements in Chapter 2. There is one special thing about Chandrayaan-3, and that is its landing location. Earth and Moon are in a one-sided relationship. You must know that the Earth is tidally locked to the Moon, meaning that only one side of the Moon is always visible to the Earth and not the other side. 41% of the Moon remains hidden from the Earth. Similarly, there are large craters on the south pole of the Moon where sunlight has not reached for billions of years. By studying these craters, we can get important information about the origins of our solar system. It is believed that water may be hidden in these craters, we're not talking about tiny quantities 100 million tonnes of water. At the same time, it is thought to be a source of essential resources like Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methane, Sodium, Mercury, and Silver. This location can become an important stop for upcoming space missions. Chapter 2: Why this mission is different? What was the improvement in Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3? There are 5 points we'll understand each one by one. Number one is the payload. Our payload in the 2019 mission was a bit more complicated there were 3 main components, the lander, the rover, and the orbiter. In the 2023 mission our payload has been simplified, this time we only have the rover and the lander In 2019, our orbiter completed its mission, so this time there was no need to include the orbiter. Number two: Powerful Lander. The team of Chandrayaan-3 has learned important lessons from the mistakes of Chandrayaan-2. The legs of our lander have been made stronger than the earlier version so that it can better resist the impact of landing and survive the landing. Earlier, our engine was not that powerful, so it could not reduce its speed in time before landing, and it fell some 750 meters away from the exact spot where it was supposed to land. Now the engine capacity of our lander has been increased. At the same time, a hazard detection system has also been added to it. Number three: Instruments. The Moon becomes a great platform to study Earth, from which we can collect data about our Earth, and plan future missions. They can be used for weather pattern detection as well as in case studies of exoplanets. Chandrayaan-3 is going to have an instrument named SHAPE which means ' Spectro-Polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth', SHAPE will read Earth's data and use it to find habitable exoplanets outside our solar system. Number 4: Launch Vehicle. The launch of Chandrayaan-3 is important because of one more reason, and that is the LVM 3 launch vehicle, which is capable of carrying 30% more weight than our first GSLV Mark 2 launch vehicle. In simple language, it means the success of this launch vehicle is also important for India because with this launch vehicle we can send heavier payloads into space, We will be able to prove our capabilities to the world Number 5 is the cost. We launched Chandrayaan-2 for approximately Rs. 870 crores. By the way, this cost is 3 times less than the Avengers: End Game, but now we have become more efficient, and the total budget of Chandrayaan-3 is going to be approx Rs. 615 crores. This is the proof of our increasing efficiency. Chapter 3: Is ISRO a waste of money? When India launched Mangalyaan, the New York Times made fun of us by publishing this cartoon. Why don't we have such cartoons about China? Is there no poverty in China? Why such cartoons are not made about the UAE? Is UAE perfect? India is an emerging country, India is a democracy, and yet it is playing an important role in sectors like space. Perhaps this thing is not digestible to some Western people. Then they ask a question like, Can India afford a space programme? Let's ask a simple question. How much do we spend on our space program every year? Satish Dhawan sir knew that questions were going to be raised on money given to ISRO that's why when he became the chief of ISRO, he used to take only ₹1 as salary, and ISRO carries the legacy of this efficiency even today See this chart. We have been increasing the budget of our space program consistently for the last 20 years, that's a fact. But this is only 0.8% of our GDP. To put things into perspective, we spend 36,000 crores to run our postal services, but what do we get with this money? We get to keep an eye on our friendly neighbor China. China is so attached to India that it keeps sending its people to Arunachal and Ladakh, making settlements there, and gradually it steals India's land using the onion slicing method But ISRO's satellite transmits this information to our security, and more than 10 surveillance satellites observe China's naval activities. When the Fani cyclone came in 2019, ISRO's satellites gave us timely warnings. Due to the information from these satellites, 11.5 lakh people were safely evacuated from Odisha. Today Odisha has become number one in disaster management, and United Nations also advises other countries to learn Odisha's disaster management model. ISRO gives us data after studying our geography, and using this data we can give guidance to the farmers By getting information about earthquakes, cyclones, and floods in advance, we can be better prepared, and reduce the damage, and all this is possible because of our satellites. ISRO's budget is 15 times less than NASA, and even with such a low budget, ISRO's scientists make your and our lives better. And not only for us, ISRO also launches satellites for foreign countries and earns money from it. To date, we have launched a total of 239 satellites for 28 countries. The whole world has so much faith in India's talent and efficiency, it is a matter of pride for us. Space has become a multi-billion-dollar industry. And through Chandrayaan-3, we can use the rare metals and minerals on the moon for the future of humanity. At the beginning of the video, we said that ISRO is also important for India's economy. Recently, space startups in India got a big boost, and ISRO is encouraging and guiding many space startups. Because the satellite launching industry has become a 13 billion-dollar-industry today, and its going to be 24 billion dollars in the next 5 years. If we can capture even 20% of this industry, we can bring 10 times the money of our space budget to India every year, and Vikram Sarabhai knew this. He is known as the father of the Indian space programme. When Nehru Ji told Vikram Sarabhai that India is a poor country, we have many social problems, we cannot afford a space programme. So Sarabhai replied back yes, we are a poor country, we have many social problems, and that's why we need a space programme. It is this vision that is taking ISRO to new heights today. Where other countries use space for weaponization, we use it for the betterment of humanity. If you got value from this video and got to learn something new, then don't forget to follow us and make sure to check out Coding Invaders. Use this coupon and get an additional discount, and join the job assistance batch to give your career a tech boost, link is in the description. Because I don't know about you, but whenever I hear about any new launch or ISRO's new achievement I feel very proud because the heroes of these successes are our scientists These are the people who know that there is bureaucracy in India, there are obstacles, the budget is less, and problems are many more, we are the same Indian country. But at the same time, we are the same India for whom the sky is not a limit but a ladder, we can climb this ladder to make our future bright and sharing this important message with you makes a difference to me! Hey guys, thank you so much for watching this video till the end. If you like this video then press the like button. Don't forget to subscribe to the blog to see more article like this.
