Closing The Gap
Picture yourself sitting in an IEP meeting and the team is discussing services for a student. Let’s say the student has a Specific Learning Disability in Reading Comprehension and Basic Reading Skills. As the team moves into discussing services, the district proposes 60 minutes a day for specialized instruction (For some reason, 30 minutes per area has become a “magic” number). They further propose the services be conducted in the special education setting, i.e., outside the regular education classroom. You may be saying to yourself, “That sounds reasonable”. I say it isn’t and here is why….

How to Pay Your Student Loans and Stay Sane
I always worried about them but the first time I cried over them was when my girlfriend and I started talking about our money situation. For the first time I discussed my debt, in details, with someone. She knew I had student loans to pay, I had just never pondered too long about how much it will affect my future, perhaps it was my way of keeping it from turning into a bigger anxiety than it already was. Early on I decided I would pay them as fast as my bank account and my common sense allowed me to. I had read this article about a person that paid 75k worth of student loans in 5 years, so I thought to myself "I own 65k, I probably can do the same." A little naive, but not too crazy of a thought. I also made the choice to not let it take over my life, like the person in the article did. I didn't want to make ramen noodles cups part of my regular diet or have no savings after 5 years of working as a so called "adult." Yet there I was, three years into my debt, crying over my debt while my girlfriend tries to console me.

My 2 weeks of Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship at DraperU
Before registering for the Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship program offered by Draper University I did the following: 1. Got in touch with the Draper Startup House in Bangalore to get my doubts cleared about the program and the accommodation. Though moving to the Draper Startup House in your country is not needed, and I couldn't do it because of my commitments in other places, I highly recommend getting in touch with them. Not only will it help you get familiar with your local startup system more, it will also help you network better before and after the program. If you can move to the closest Draper Startup House I would recommend doing so.

Elementary
"You don't know what you're doing do you?" Barton asked impatiently. Everyone in the class gathered around to see what was going on. It was the last day of school for the students of Prescott Manford Preparatory School, and the students were waiting for the bell to ring. The bell of freedom, the bell that will officially start summer vacation. "Yes, Barton, I do! Now stand aside, and let me work! Sheesh!" Farrah yelled. Farrah was in the middle of solving a puzzle, in which she had to open a small wooden box that had what seemed to be an impossibly challenging opening. Farrah was best known as "The Puzzle Cracker" or "The Mystery Solver" around the school. If a student needed help solving anything, Farrah would be the one they'd go to. She was tall and slim, with thick jet black hair that she often just put up in a ponytail or a messy bun when she was in the middle of solving a puzzle. She was always up for a challenge, and there really wasn't a puzzle that she couldn't solve.

Rate My Professor/Teacher: Helpful or Not?
So, for those who don't know, Rate My Prof is, essentially, a very useful site. But you kind of need to take it with a grain of salt. The site gives students the opportunity to rate and review the professors they've had and leave tips from their experience in their class. Which is great if you are a student going into the class and want to know what to expect. It also gives students a chance to back out of classes where the teacher or professor may not be the best, or may just have a teaching style that will not benefit the student.

4 Factors for Effective Language Learning
If you've tried learning a new language as an adult, you are probably familiar with how difficult it can be to retain vocabulary, grammar rules and pronunciation- and that's not including the likelihood of a new alphabet or writing system! There are books, videos, podcasts and apps out there to help, but these can't replace the benefit of learning one to one with a tutor. In order to become confident in a language, you need to be exposed to it frequently, otherwise your brain is likely to 'forget' the vocabulary. Scientifically: the neural pathways to the language will be weakened as your brain prioritises other areas, so recall becomes more difficult. So, how to go about making it stick?
