Taking care of your skin is important; building a good skincare routine can help you achieve your skin goals and keep your skin healthier. But with so many products out there and different types of skin, it can be challenging to discern what the best products and routine are right for you.

The first important step for anyone would be to learn your skin type and learn how your skin reacts to different chemicals often found in cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. Products will list what skin types they are best used for, as well as their ingredients. Pro tip: If you’re not sure what something is in the ingredients, don’t be afraid to look it up!

When building up your skincare routine, start with cleaning your face. Also, in case you didn’t know: using a makeup wipe is not the same as washing your face. Wipe off all the makeup and then use a cleanser specifically designed to clean your face, not just remove makeup. Here are some recommended products.

GlyDerm Gentle Face Cleanser:

Features a pH-balanced, non-alkaline base. It can help purify the skin without removing the essential moisture your skin needs or causing redness or irritation. This product is generally very good for almost all skin types, even sensitive skin.

NourishMax Green Goddess Jelly Petal Face Cleanser

This is an all-natural face cleanser that focuses on the healing ingredients of kiwi and vitamin C. This is a completely vegan formula that stimulates blood circulation to create a healthier balance through the face. It’s good for most skin types, but might not have the best reaction for sensitive skin.

The next step in your routine needs to be toner. It doesn’t seem like much, but adding a toner to your regular routine will make such a huge difference in the texture of your skin. Toner helps prepare the skin to drink up your moisturizer and any other skin treatments you apply, leaving your skin at its optimal health level. When applying toner, it’s important not to forget your neck and make sure you are dabbing with enough pressure to penetrate through the skin.

NourishMax Coenzyme Q10 Toner

This product contains natural antioxidants to help your skin protect against free radicals. It's gluten-free and vegan. It’s a great product to help soothe and hydrate skin, and it works well with all skin types.

Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner

The main ingredients of this product are aloe and arnica, which help soothe the skin and keep it firm. It is also gluten-free and vegan. This product also comes in a spray container for quick and easy application.

Most people, when they reach a certain age, start to become stressed out in life and not sleep as much as they should. All of this can have some serious effects on your skin. One of the most noticeable is puff bags under the eyes that never seem to go away. Adding on makeup only does so much. It’s important to make sure to be taking care of this in your skincare routine as well to help solve the issue, instead of just covering it up. Investing in a good eye cream is very important for anyone who suffers from or is at risk of dark, heavy circles under their eyes, thinning or wrinkled eyelids, or other crow's feet.

Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5 + EGCG

This product contains a high concentration of caffeine and is supplemented with epigallocatechin gallatyl glucoside (EGCG) from green tea leaves. This is a water-based serum, and it’s recommended for all skin types.

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

This product is specifically focused on wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots. This product works to brighten and even skin tone under the eye with retinol and hyaluronic acid. This is an oil-based eye cream and is not recommended for people with oily skin.

Lastly, moisturize your face. While it may seem like your face doesn’t need moisturizer because you have an oily complexion or your face never seems dry, it’s important to hydrate your skin to prevent future problems with your skin and keep it as healthy as possible. If you’re doing your skincare routine in the morning, it’s very important to also be wearing an SPF. Many good moisturizers include SPF in their formulas, but make sure you’re paying attention to the ratios and not paying for an SPF with only a tiny bit of moisturizer. It might even be best to buy a moisturizer with no SPF and buy it separately, depending on your skincare needs and allotted time in the morning for this routine.

Elta MD PM Therapy Moisturizer

This product is made with niacinamide and antioxidants to improve skin color and tone while also speeding up metabolism to maximize nightly skin repair. This helps leave your skin feeling healthy and full. This is recommended for all skin types, even sensitive skin.

Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer

This product can help reduce the look of redness and help minimize pores. This is a gel-based moisturizer that seeps deep into the skin to help keep it hydrated throughout the day.

Biossance Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen

This is a lightweight sunscreen lotion specifically designed for facial skin to help keep it moisturized and protected throughout the day.

Neogen Day Light Protection Sunscreen

It has dual sun-blocking properties to protect from UVA and UVB. It contains rose and raspberry extracts for ultimate hydration through your skin. Not recommended for oily skin.

Skin care is important, and it’s important for overall health. Take the time to find the products that work for you to help achieve your ideal skin care and skin goals. Don’t be afraid to research or try new things! Your skin and health are worth it.
