How I Become a Paid Content Creator

My husband once asked me why I spend so much time on social media. Now I have a good reason.

A long time ago, in a world far far away—it was actually my mother-in-law's backyard, and it was 12 years ago—my husband was getting irritated that I was on Facebook a lot. He asked if I was getting paid. At that time, I was, but I wasn't a content creator yet. That hadn't been a thing at this time. People were hiring me to write their papers or build websites.

I was also doing some MLM on there, too, way before I found out how awful they were. That's a different story. Check out my profile to find that one. Anyway, let's get back to this point I am trying to make.

I was making money using social media before it became a huge money maker.

As the years passed, I made money occasionally, but never a lot until a few years ago. When TikTok came around, they were paying their creators. Facebook caught on, and Instagram. Pinterest has always been a great way to make money, but it wasn't the one paying you. You can also find a story about that in my profile. I never really got into TikTok because it was more young girls dancing and showing off their bodies. And as a straight hetero female, I wasn't into that. Also, I can't dance, so it was a big no for me. I like Facebook and still like it more because it is a social media platform. I like seeing what people are doing and sharing what I am doing. I have met some amazing people in my life through Facebook.

As soon as Facebook started monetizing people, I was on it more. Don't worry; I didn't let it take over my life. I just posted more reels and posts. I finally got monetized. First, I got stars, then my reels, and lastly, my posts.

Now, let me share with you how I did it. That is why you are here, right?

I stayed active, engaged a ton of people, joined a lot of groups, made a lot of posts and reels, and shared them in groups that allowed it.If they didn't allow that, I would just post in the group. I also made posts on my timeline. One of the other things I did was make a ton of Facebook pages. I would make videos that pertained to the pages and make posts, and eventually, a few of them got monetized.

I am not making a lot of money. Again, this is because I do not let it consume me. I know that if I put more time into it, I would make more. But honestly, it is a lot of work. Right now, I am happy with where I am at financially. I always think that I am going to get a YouTube channel and build my IG just so I can make more money. One day, maybe I will.
