As a landscape architect, I see the world through a unique lens. A lens amalgamating with nature and design. We reshape the spaces to places. Every kind of space tells a story of human intention and the wild unpredictability of the natural world.

Landscape architecture is a subject that is more than art and science. It is a comprehensive field that carries more responsibility, together with an innovative thinking process. Every well-designed space has the power to heal and reconnect. As designers, we directly deal with the emotions and feelings of people. It is a responsible task that represents and decides lots of perspectives in the location and user behavior.

Sustainability is the foundation of good landscape design which means considering the long term impact of the designs on the environments, target users and on future generations as well. Every single decision effect for the long term impacts. Through sustainable design, landscape architects offer the gift of resilience to the environment. In the face of climate change, habitat loss, deforestation it is the most important than ever to design the spaces that are not only environmentally responsible but also adaptable.

This field is also a platform for cultural representation. Each every place, community and culture has its endemic ethics, history and values. As the gift of cultural expression landscape architects have opportunity to honor and celebrate those values through the designs. Whether it is creating public spaces that reflects a community heritage that promote social equality, the ability to weave cultural narratives into the landscape is a gift that connects people to their past, present and future. The gift of cultural expression in landscape design is the ability to build places that foster a sense of belonging and pride.

In our modern world, we often find ourselves surrounded by stress, noise and chaos. Landscape architects are in a unique position to create spaces that heal spaces that offer relief from the pressures of daily life. Nature has a proven therapeutic effect on the human phycology and through thoughtful design we can harness the restorative power of the natural world.

The gift of healing comes in many forms. A well-designed landscape like garden, urban park, therapeutic landscapes, natural parks play are great role regarding human feelings and emotions. In nowadays people are in a rat race. Digital divides create a gap in access to technology, which can disconnect individuals from social, educational, and economic interactions and leading to feelings of solitude and isolation. In that kind of condition those designs is a bridge to re-connect and re-think with nature. Our inner self must be heal first within this running world and tiresome minds.

In a time when people are increasingly distanced from another physically by urban sprawl, emotionally by fast paced lifestyles, and digitally by screen dominated interactions the value of designed outdoor spaces become even more essential. Those are catalyst to build new interactions within the society. It is not just shaping lands but also it is shaping human experiences.

In this sense, landscape architects are not merely designers and they are stewards of the human-nature relationships. They sculpt more than the physical world; they sculpt emotional landscapes, creating opportunities for calm, joy, contemplation and community. As our environments grow more digital, isolating and fast moving this gift becomes increasingly significant.

Designing is a silent offering a place to heal to belong to feel seen. It is a responsibility wrapped in empathy, sensitively and vision. The true gift of landscape design is its quiet ability to transform lives one space, one moment and one breath of fresh air at a time. At last not least designing is a gift which can gain self satisfaction after seeing conceptual phase get reality in the rreal world.
