In a small village located at the foot of Tay Yen Tu Mountain, there is an ancient pagoda called Van Son Pagoda. This place is the retreat of Master Minh Tam, a monk who is respected by everyone in the village for his gentleness and profound wisdom.

Mr. Minh Tam was born into a poor family, but since childhood, he has had a passion for Buddhism. When he was just ten, he was determined to ask his parents to let him go to the temple to study. Seeing that their son had a great wish, his parents were willing to accept even though they were very sad because they had to leave him.

At Van Son Pagoda, Mr. Minh Tam was taught and guided step by step by the old abbot on the path of cultivation. The first years were not easy. Mr. Minh Tam has to get up early every day to clean the pagoda, take care of the garden and study the scriptures. But with perseverance and determination, he gradually overcame all difficulties and became an elite disciple.

One day, when Master Minh Tam had become a profound monk, a great storm hit the village. Trees fell, houses were destroyed, and people suffered from deprivation. Mr. Minh Tam and his disciples in the temple did not hesitate, went down the mountain to help the villagers. He and his disciples rebuilt their homes, sharing food and water with those in need. His compassionate heart has made the villagers admire and be grateful.

After the storm, Mr. Minh Tam realized that the village needed a clean water source for living and irrigation. He researched and decided to build a water system from the mountains to the village. With the support of the villagers and disciples in the temple, after many months of hard work, the water drainage system was completed. Since then, people have no longer worried about clean water, and crops are also lush.

Some time later, an epidemic spread throughout the village, causing many people to get sick. Mr. Minh Tam is not afraid of difficulties, has used the medical knowledge he learned from the scriptures to find herbs in the forest, process them into medicines for the villagers. Thanks to his dedication and compassion, the epidemic was gradually repelled, and the villagers once again admired and thanked him.

The stories of Mr. Minh Tam's compassion and sacrifice spread throughout the region, and many people from remote villages also came to Van Son Pagoda to learn and practice with him. Under his guidance, the disciples not only learned about the scriptures but also learned how to live peacefully, help others, and love nature.

As time passed, Mr. Minh Tam became a respected monk not only in the small village but also in the vast area. Despite his advanced age, he still strives to practice and help people. He always taught his disciples: "Buddhism is not only about studying the scriptures, but also about how to live and how to treat people. Always live with compassion and sacrifice, for that is the path to enlightenment."

One day, when Minh Tam felt that his health was no longer the same as before, he decided to pass on the position of abbot to a close disciple who he trusted to have enough virtue and wisdom to continue his path of practice and help others. Before leaving the temple to retreat, Minh Tam called his disciples and instructed: "Remember that this life is impermanent, everything changes. But compassion and wisdom will forever be the guiding light for us."

After Mr. Minh Tam left the temple, the disciples and villagers were extremely nostalgic and grateful to him. Although he is no longer by his side, his lessons and example are always alive in everyone's hearts. Van Son Pagoda under the guidance of the new abbot continues to develop, becoming a spiritual refuge for villagers and those who come to study.

Mr. Minh Tam, even though he was a hermit in the mountains and forests, always silently prayed and guided those who came to him to learn. In the last years of his life, he lived a simple life, in harmony with nature and continued to practice to achieve complete enlightenment. The stories of Mr. Minh Tam are not only legends but also a source of vivid inspiration, encouraging people to live better, love and help each other in life.

The story of Mr. Minh Tam is a testament to the power of compassion and wisdom in changing people's lives. He has lived a full life, dedicated to the Dharma and sentient beings, and left an invaluable legacy for generations to come.
