In a heartfelt tribute to motherhood, Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, hosted a splendid Mother’s Day celebration in the AV room of the school premises. This beautifully curated event was dedicated to the mothers of the junior school students and served as a touching reminder of the invaluable role mothers play in shaping young lives.

The AV room, where the celebration unfolded, was transformed into a vibrant haven of love and admiration. The backdrop was elegantly adorned with a blue and gold floral theme, carrying the warm message “Happy Mother’s Day,” creating a stunning visual that captured the spirit of the occasion. The school corridors echoed this theme with creatively designed crown cutouts — an artistic nod to the sentiment that every mother is, indeed, a queen in her child’s world.

Warm hospitality marked the beginning of the celebration, with teachers and coordinators welcoming each mother with heartfelt greetings. As they entered, a moving audio-visual presentation played in the background, showcasing a delightful montage of photos featuring students with their mothers — a display that stirred nostalgia and affection in every viewer.

Adding a personal and charming touch to the celebration, Suhina Khetterpal and Jaiwardhar Singh, bright and confident students of PYP-5, took on the role of hosts for the event. With grace and enthusiasm beyond their years, they warmly welcomed all the mothers and guided the audience through the entire celebration, keeping the energy high and the emotions heartfelt. The event was graced by the Principal of the School, Mr Purshottam Dutt Vashist and, Vice Principal, Ms Neha Sharma, alongside other teachers.

“This is indeed a special moment and a time for celebration, as we come to the close of this session. We must pause to acknowledge and extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who stay awake through the night, working tirelessly to keep us safe amidst the ongoing conflict in the country. This is due to them, which is why we are here celebrating today. I’ve also come to know that some students have been secretly practising for quite some time, hiding it well from me! I must say, I’m truly excited to see what surprises the room holds today. It’s wonderful to see all of you here. Wishing each one of you a fantastic day ahead,” shares Mr Vashist.

To add to the comfort and charm of the event, refreshments including tea, coffee, juice, and cookies were thoughtfully served to all mothers and teachers, creating a relaxed and warm atmosphere for bonding and celebration. The event truly took flight with a mesmerising dance performance by the youngest stars of the school. These little wonders performed on the soul-stirring track “Meri Maa” in a heartfelt tribute that left many mothers teary-eyed, overwhelmed with emotions, and pride.

One of the most unforgettable highlights of the afternoon was the regal ramp walk. With grace and glamour, all the mothers took to the red carpet, walking with elegance and joy, basking in their moment of recognition and celebration. The air was filled with cheers and admiration, making every mother feel like royalty.

“It was an overwhelming experience. The activities were beautifully planned and executed. Watching the performances brought tears to my eyes,” shares Ms Deepika Seth, mother of Saisha, who is in nursery.

Adding an element of fun and interaction, a lively game called ‘Guess the Name’ had the audience in stitches. In this unique activity, chits containing students’ mothers’ names and fun cues related to daily essentials were drawn. The chosen mothers came on stage and enacted the clue written on the chit, without speaking, while the audience attempted to guess the word. The laughter, excitement, and camaraderie it sparked were infectious. Participants, both the enactors and the guessers, were rewarded with delightful goodies.

“Events like these help us connect more deeply with our children and fellow parents. I’m carrying today’s memories with me for a lifetime,” shares Ms Sarvesh, mother of Rianna Ray of PYP-1.

Another engaging activity, Fastest Feet First, tested balance, speed, and coordination. In this quirky and enjoyable challenge, mothers had to roll newspapers using only their feet. The fastest among them were greeted with cheers, goodies, and sweet treats. Laughter rang through the hall as everyone cheered for their favourites, and children eagerly joined in later rounds, strengthening the special mother-child bond.

“I’m feeling so happy and emotional. This was truly one of the best events I’ve attended. Sending love to all moms,” said Ms Gresha, mother of Mihiraan (Nursery) and Aidaan (PYP-5)

A highlight that deeply touched every heart present was the school’s commitment to inclusivity. Even the school’s help staff was warmly invited to participate in the activities, showcasing a beautiful example of unity and respect beyond roles, an embodiment of the school’s values of empathy and community.

“What a day! I’m so grateful to the school for such an extravagant and thoughtfully planned event. It was surreal and made me incredibly happy. Every school should celebrate Mother’s Day like this,” mentioned Ms Neha Gupta, mother of Vaanya Gupta, who is in the Nursery.

The celebration reached a touching crescendo as a group of nine young students took to the stage and sang the classic “You Are My Sunshine,” filling the room with heartfelt emotion and love. As the final note faded, the atmosphere burst into celebration again, with all the mothers dancing together on the floor—radiant, joyful, and surrounded by love.

“Amazing! Amidst all the chaos of daily life, this felt like the perfect stress-buster. The arrangements were fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself,” said Ms Amina, mother of Sanaya Ali (PYP-3).

“It was a cheerful and heartwarming event. I truly enjoyed every moment. I especially loved how the school made us mothers feel so special,” shared Ms Divya Sarna, mother of Kiyan Sarma, PYP-5.

Later in the afternoon, mothers were invited to visit their child’s respective classrooms, where another heartwarming surprise awaited them. Each grade had thoughtfully prepared a series of special activities and handcrafted tokens of love to make their moms feel truly cherished. From collaborative basket-making sessions to lively dance performances, heartfelt card-making, personalised photo frames, and creative “vision jars,” the classrooms were abuzz with joy, creativity, and love. These intimate moments between children and their mothers added a beautiful, personal touch to an already unforgettable day.

“I love my mom so much. I made two cards for her on this special day because I wanted her to feel truly special,” added Hetav Singh, student of PYP-2.

“I help my mom in the kitchen sometimes and love spending time with her. Today was one of the best days of my life!” expressed Ranbir Singh Dua, student of PYP-1.

Ms Anshu, mother of Nysha, student of Reception, also expressed her gratitude. “Exceptionally well executed event! The school created such a warm and joyful atmosphere. The enthusiasm was contagious; I enjoyed every bit of it. A big thank you to the school for making all moms feel valued. Happy Mother’s Day!”

“Events like these are a reminder of how beautifully a school becomes a community. Celebrating our mothers today wasn’t just about a performance or a plan—it was about connection, laughter, and creating memories together” shares Ms Sameeksha Bhatt, PYP Coordinator.

This Mother’s Day celebration at Apeejay School was more than just an event, it was an emotion. A beautifully orchestrated afternoon that honoured every mother’s unconditional love, celebrated womanhood, and nurtured bonds that will last a lifetime.
