WHAT IF? An Asteroid Destruction

This science proven happening were never new to us but what could actually happen if an asteroid collided with our planet? Hundreds of space rocks enter our atmosphere each year, but fortunately they burn up before they can cause any noticeable damage. However, there is evidence that the earth has been struck by several large asteroids throughout history, so there is always a chance that this could happen again.
