We Are Going To Die

Should we be worried?

In astronomy, explosions can destroy the earth, starting with the ozone layer of the atmosphere, which has been protecting the world from ultraviolet radiation. Without that protection, many problems will occur, such as the death of many animals or trees. Let's talk a little about the past.

In 2008, Peter Tuthill and his colleagues analyzed a star system called WR104 that is within 8000 light years from Earth. One star from WR104 is very old and massive. This star is ready to explode. When it does, there's a small chance it might release a gamma ray. Peter Tuthill is quite worried if our earth is in that target.

In 2013, the threat loomed ever closer. Scientists say that such an explosion could happen any time after 500,000 years. The threat of gamma rays should not be taken lightly by anyone. Observation of space is very important to prevent unwanted things from happening. Move a little in the future.

In 2014, two physicists Isvi Pian and Raul Jimenez said gamma rays are too dangerous. 90% of alien life may have been wiped out in this universe. But alien civilizations are so rare that it explains why scientific research, the phenomenon of intelligent life is not found. If found it is not what we thought. We imagine it's like a human with big eyes but it's a just tardigrade.

The next topic is about rare gamma rays giving life to other creatures. If you follow the earth, it's a little bit closer to the "Heart" of the Milky Way. A great opportunity for no other life. But dear or unfortunate, this does not mean that the Earth will not be affected by gamma rays. After all, our planet is 4.54 billion years old. There used to be an asteroid that fell to Earth. Now there may be but not much.

In 2004, scientists concluded that the last time gamma rays hit the earth was 440 million years ago. Meaning at that time there was no more life on earth. But in 2013 there was news that worried the public. Star WR104. You can search Google if you want to know more about this star. Many thought that WR104 would give the earth a big problem.

But, don't worry either because you can all breathe a sigh of relief as WR104 shows they won't bother us. For now. If WR104 emits gamma rays, it should not hit Earth. However, we cannot be complacent. Gamma radiation is just one of the threats to life on Earth. Scientists cannot control the universe but the book can prepare for the next threat.

Asteroids also have their risks. A large space rock would necessarily result in a massive extinction. There is, right, that event where dinosaurs became extinct 66 million years ago. This shows that the threat was there in 2015 when scientists discovered a past star outside the solar system. While the star passed, we as a species have already started to leave Africa and explore the whole world.

The impact scientists make on the world always goes unnoticed. But today we will try to make a difference for them. They may not want our appreciation even though they deserve it. They work day and night just to keep our planet safe. This is one of the noble pursuits that we must cherish for the next generation.

In the future science will help humans to achieve many great things. In a world full of information, we have to think critically and no one will be led astray from humanity. Great things can happen because we as humans are the life of science.
