Things know about COIMBATORE & POLLACHI :)

Moving to the Coimbatore, I never knew it would be struggle to explain where I am from. Love this place :)

So here are a few things I have had to clear up over the last 3 years and some bonus information.

COIMBATORE

Coimbatore is a city in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the second largest city in the state and is known for its textile and engineering industries. It is also a major education and research center and is home to several universities and research institutions. The city is known for its temples and natural attractions, such as the Siruvani Dam and the Monkey Falls. The climate of the city is tropical and it receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. The city is well connected by road, rail, and air transport and is a major transportation hub in southern India.

Coimbatore is known for several tourist attractions, some popular ones are:

  • Marudamalai Temple: A hill temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, which is a popular pilgrimage spot.

  • Perur Pateeswarar Temple: A centuries-old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is famous for its architectural beauty.

  • Monkey Falls: A beautiful waterfall located in the Western Ghats and is a popular spot for picnics and trekking.

  • Vydehi Dam: A dam located on the Siruvani River and is a popular spot for boating and fishing.

  • Gass Forest Museum: A museum dedicated to the forest and wildlife of the Western Ghats and is a popular spot for nature enthusiasts.

  • G.D. Naidu Museum: A museum dedicated to the life and works of Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, an Indian inventor and industrialist.

  • Dhyanalinga Temple: A spiritual center located on the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains and is a popular spot for meditation and yoga.

  • Isha Yoga Center: A spiritual center founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and offers programs on yoga and meditation.

  • Kovai Kondattam: An amusement park that offers a variety of rides and attractions for people of all ages.

  • Siruvani Dam: A dam that is the main source of drinking water for the city of Coimbatore, is a popular spot for picnics and nature walks.

Coimbatore and Pollachi distance

The distance between Coimbatore and Pollachi is about 40 kilometers (25 miles). The quickest way to travel between the two cities is by car or bus, which takes around an hour and a half to two hours depending on traffic conditions. Alternatively, one can also take a train from Coimbatore to Pollachi which takes around 1-2 hours. The distance can also be covered by a flight to Coimbatore airport and then take a taxi to reach Pollachi which would take around 1 hour.
