Beautiful gardens with secrets


Aokigahara Forest is located at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. It is a beautiful place to visit but over the dense woods an eerie silence hangs. While walking the paths here many visitors have had a sense of unease perhaps spirits following them.

The forest has been part of ancient tales of spirits and mysticism and unfortunately, many have chosen to end their days here. Despite all there is haunting beauty and lots for nature lovers to enjoy.

Bhangarth Fort Gardens in India are known to be part of legend and mystery. This is one of the most haunted places in India. As visitors explore the ruins they feel an eerie prescence perhaps spirits looking for contact with the living.

You might tremble as you walk but the beauty will astound you. Locals tell tales of a curse that befell the city, leading to its abandonment.

Central Park Secret Garden in New York City holds its own mystery. It is set back from the main paths and is a peaceful retreat. The intrigue is of clandestine meetings and mysterious occurrences. The garden remains as a silent witness not giving up its secrects. Come visit meet up with some spirits of the past and enjoy this hidden treasure far from the teeming city.

Come stroll the Gardens of Bamarzo in Italy. These are also referred to as the Park of Monsters, The garden has amazing sculptures that were created by Prince Orsini in the 16th century, they reflect his grief and creativity.

Each sculpture tells a story, some dark and enigmatic, challenging visitors to interpret their meanings.

Garden of Ninfa in Italy is a beautiful and romantic place having gone through a turbulent history. It was built upon a medieval town and its spirits linger around.

You walk among lovely flowers and ruins and the past seems to surround you.

Garden of Versailles is a breathtakingly beautiful and opulent garden. However, it does have its dark side since King Louis XIV used these gardens not just for leisure but to exert control over the nobility. Many plots and conspiracies blossomed alongside its floral arrangements.

These gardens served as the backdrop for significant historical events that shaped France. Walking through the garden you can perhaps hear the whispers of past secrets upon the wind.

Hatfield House Gardens in England are known for their beauty and history. The gardens witnessed Elizabeth I learning of her ascension to the throne, a momentous yet secretive event at the time.

Haw Par Villa Gardens in Singapore are impressive gardens with sculptures that bring Chinese mythology and folklore to life. The park was designed to educate about right and wrong, using intense imagery.

Kensington Gardens are charming and lovely gardens in London and were once part of Hyde Park. These gardens are shrouded in mystery surrounded by tales of ghostly apparitions. One spirit seen by visitors is tht of a young woman.

These garden have a statue of Peter Pan adding some magic to them.

Quinta da Regaleira Gardens in Portugal attract with their Gothic architecture. This estate has secret tunnels and and the famous Initiation Well, linked to Masonic rituals and alchemist symbolism.

There is much to explore and you can see how it will take over your imagination hiding historical and mythical secrets within its paths.

Peterhof Palace Gardens in Russia are known for their grandor and along with the palace are sometimes referred to as the Russian Versailles. They were commissioned by Peter the Great, the gardens symbolize imperial power, yet their history tells of the workers’ suffering. The stark contrast between the opulence and the toil that created it is evident.

Visitors are often amazed by the beauty while pondering the human cost behind it. The gardens reflect both a glorious and somber past.

The Poison Garden at Alnwick in Northumberland, England. This garden has more than 100 toxic plants, now you wouldn't want to pick some for your herb tea, would you? There are signs warning visitors to stay on the paths and not touch anything. This garden was created to educate the public on the dangers of these plants, some of which have been used historically for nefarious purposes. Its stark beauty contrasts with the deadly nature of its flora.

Each plant has a story, contributing to the garden’s dark allure. Visitors can only enter the Poison Garden on guided tours, which provide information about the plants and their effects.

Villa d'Este Gardens in Italy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its water features. It was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito II d’Este, the garden’s beauty was meant to distract from his political failures and personal disappointments.

There are lovely and impressive terraces and fountains. Walking here gives a sense of stepping back into history.

Villa Lante Gardens in Italy are lovely with a Renaissance design. They have a sad side being commissioned by Cardinal Gambara, the gardens reflect both his power and his hidden sorrows. Their elaborate structures tell a tale of control and ambition, as well as personal turmoil. Visitors can sense these underlying emotions in its layout and flowing water features.
