The End of an Era
A young girl, somewhere around the age of ten, had a dream one night that would awaken her to the harsh reality of the world she was born into. Where exactly she was residing is unimportant in the grand scheme of things; she could be here or there, and it would happen just the same. It was a usual night, and she was dreaming a usual dream (if such a thing even exists). Whatever one of your classic dreams is, just imagine that is what she was seeing. The last bit of dream, just before she woke up, is the part she knew was different. She could feel the difference. It wasnβt really a dream, but it also was surely not physically happening. She now believes it was a spiritual meeting of sorts β that seems to be the only explanation that feels right.

My Discovery of a Peaceful Life
Finally moved in, it took a whole village to get me relocated to the most remote place I could think of, only to be closer to my ancestors, the sky, and the land that saw my great-grandparents grow. My family helped me build a home in a 1000 acre lot that my grandparents left us, my siblings decided they did not want it, and passed it all to me, it was a remote forest and in the middle, I built a cabin, the process took 6 months, from ground break to placing the final touches on the coffee table. My father added a security system, my mom a very big pantry, and my siblings a satellite dish half a mile away to ensure that I would have a way to communicate with them. I was so secluded that my closest neighbor was about 25 miles away, and that neighbor was my grand uncle, this land has been in the family forever, the ranch that my grand uncle owned was the main source of income for the whole family, and as the family continued to grow so did the business, coffee and cattle two things that seven generations had worked on and of course the forest the one reason to keep this land was to make sure that just like we received from it, we would give back to it. Here we had it all; water, trees, animal life and open skies.

Eyes from the Deep
The anticipated message lit up Genna's screen at exactly 8 o'clock a.m., on the seventh day of her isolated quarantine. Her previous hours staring at the dome ceiling above her, had brought her to contemplate the heavy black water above. She wondered at how everything could seem so calm. How could the unimaginable pressure of the Atlantic Ocean above her seem so still and unmovable, but in reality, it was a seething beast, just waiting for any chance to rush in and crush Gennas body with its immense weight.

look to the left
My hands plunge into the water. Subtle perfume arises from the suds and the gentle hint of mint and citrus fill the surrounding air. As I cast my eyes out of our kitchen window, I gaze to the promises and the memories we have created in just over a year.

NEZNANI
Humans do not rule my Earth. This is the planet of the plants. We are the sole admirers of the sun. The sun -- a star so generous to bring us to life, yet so eager to withdraw us from the joys which we have only recently been introduced to. It seems as though we are introduced to love simply to make us suffer in an abrupt end. But please remember I am not a human with such delicate feelings, for humans do not rule my Earth.

The Strange Green Glow Up In The Hills
Up in the hills about ten miles from my house, sometimes weird stuff would go on in the hills. Government stuff, they said, like stuff affiliated with the military and the Department of the Defense, or DOD. It was owned by Rocketdyne, but also NASA, the Department of Energy(DOE), Boeing, all these Aerospace companies were doing stuff up there. What, we didn't know exactly, it was there business and we weren't to know about it. They tested rockets, that was all we knew.....he it was the height of the Cold War, got to get those Commies, beat them at their own game. We would sometimes hear noises, smelled odd smells, hear sonic booms that would shake the houses and rattle the windows and scare us. That was what it was like growing up in the Atomic Age and the Cold War, being afraid of worrying about fighting against the Soviets and Communism. Sometimes at night you might see this weird, green glow way up in the hills coming from the Santa Susana mountains above Chatsworth, the next suburb west of us in Northridge. We wondered what the hell that was....Aliens? Atomic energy? Rockets? A haunted glow from the former, burnt out Spahn Ranch were the Manson Family hung out and killed people there, and the evil still hung around? It was kind of creepy.

Nature's Wonders
In the cool of the morning I like to stroll down this smooth pebbled path. It exudes tranquility and calms my spirit. My eyes are captivated by the little patches of daisies and creeping phlox tattered around the edges of the path with fresh dew clinging to them. The pale yellow and deep purple flowers provide an eye pleasing contrast to the hues of the lush green of the forest. my senses are awash with the cool air and the smell of the damp trees. In the still of the morning I can hear the soft crunch of the discarded leaves and pine needles strewn on the path. As I wander on I can hear the forest starting to come to life. The gentle breeze softly shakes the branches, pitter patters of feet start to stir and buzzing wings of various sizes take flight.

The Marigolds Sing Pt. 3
Thereβs a somber, melancholic rage hidden in the beauties of gushing waterfalls. The fragrant deluge, the grand reception of glimmering waters, majestic in its prowess, wailing and howling, crushing moss against rocks, enforcing the carelessness of her agile mass on the soil and rocks, as they clamor about and out of her way. Catapulted forward, rambunctious in the way that she lunges on, rushing to meet the rigid edges of the earth. Fleeing the dark to conquer the light. Sunshine.
