Everyone wants to travel and explore the world but when it comes to planning a trip, we hold ourselves back due to the over-priced tickets and accommodations. But do you know you can make an abroad tour possible without making a dent in your wallet? Here is how it's done:

1. Plan in Advance

The first step in making a trip successful under budget and not exceeding your budget limits is to plan everything in advance. If you have planned everything before starting your tour, you’re more likely to save your money. You must plan everything from choosing the flights to booking the accommodations.

2. Choosing the Destination

Chose the less expensive destinations. Prefer places that are unique and are at less distance. The time of the tour makes a huge difference. Avoid the peak season as prices of tickets and hotels usually elevate in peak seasons. Select those destinations that have less currency value than your currency. The bonus tip to save expenses is to travel with a group of friends. This will not only make your trip pleasurable but will also help you momentarily as you can split the expenses of food, transport, etc.

3. Book in Advance

Book your flights and places in advance. This will be beneficial as flight tickets are usually cheap if they’re booked months ago. Prefer traveling on working days rather than weekends. Tickets are mostly cheap on Tuesdays and are overpriced at weekends. Making bookings on time will also save you from emergency situations and you will be able to enjoy hassle-free trips.

4. Packing

Pack your clothes and stuff wisely. Avoid over-packing because extra luggage will cost you extra money. Pack only basic clothing as you will not have enough time to change clothes repeatedly. Don’t forget to keep your basic traveling items, especially cables and chargers as they usually cost a lot in most countries.

5. Hostel Over Hotels

Prefer living in hostels rather than booking a lavish hotel. Hostels are way too much costly compared to the hostels. There are hostels where you can find good food and comfortable beds. So, there is no point in wasting your money on expensive hotels.

6. Use Public Transport

Always go for public transport over taxis and private cars. Public transport is way too comfortable and cheap. There are chances that you will get to meet some locals and make friends during your journey. Prefer traveling at night, this will save you from booking a room for that night. If possible, then go to the nearby places on foot or book a bicycle. This will keep you active and healthy and of course, you will be able to save your money as well.

7. Meals

When it comes to visiting a foreign country, one of the most captivating elements is the local dishes and desserts. One can easily spend extra money when it comes to delicious food items. One way to avoid doing that is eating street food than going to expensive restaurants. Street food offers you original global cuisines. Street food offers you a wide range of delicious meals at affordable prices. Many hostels and hotels offer free meals usually breakfasts, don’t miss such options. During traveling keep snacks in your backpack to fulfill your cravings.

8. Couchsurfing

If you find it convenient and safe then find a trustable host to spend the night as a couch surfer. You must be mindful of your safety and comfort while looking for potential hosts.

9. Shopping

Don’t spend your money on buying souvenirs. Souvenirs are overrated. Always prefer collecting memories as they’re going to be with you all your life. Prefer shopping from local markets as they are cheap. In some countries you can get a discount by bargaining with the seller so, give it a try. Avoid scams as tourists are the best targets of scammers in markets.

10. Others

Buy a local sim card so you can get the net packages at local prices. Call and net facilities on international sims are way too much costly. Interact with the locals and try to learn the native language. This will help avoid scams and gain confidence. Making a trip successful and memorable doesn’t dependent on how much money you have in your pockets. It solely depends on YOU.

Enjoy your trip. Have a memorable time!
