BUILDING A PLANET FROM SCRATCH?
Is it possible to build our own planet from scratch?

No one knows for sure what will happen to the planet Earth if a large chunk of space rock were to hit us. Raising colonies elsewhere in the universe is an obvious plan, but space travel is extraordinarily complex. It's possible that it might take years or even centuries to reach another solar system. If we build an artificial planet ourselves, this could be a possibility. Science fiction often portrays science and technology in unusual ways, such as the Death Star in Star Wars, the planets-building facility in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or even Dyson Spheres.
