A World Without A History

This Could Be Us If We Simply Live In The Now

By Brian FurphyPublished 2 years ago 3 min read
What a strange world.

Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there was a world that was unlike any other. It was a world without a history. No one knew how it came to be, or who had created it. It was a mystery to all who lived there.

The inhabitants of this world were a curious people. They were born with no knowledge of the past, and they had never seen anything that would suggest that there had ever been a time before them. They were a blank slate, with no memories to guide them and no stories to shape their understanding of the world.

Despite this, the people of this world were not unhappy. They had everything they needed to survive and thrive. They had food, shelter, and each other. They had no wars to fight, no conflicts to resolve, and no enemies to defeat. They lived in peace and harmony, and they were content.

Over time, the people of this world began to explore their surroundings. They discovered new animals, plants, and minerals. They built towns and cities, and they created new technologies to make their lives easier. They were a creative and innovative people, and they were always pushing the boundaries of what was possible.

As the years passed, the people of this world began to wonder about their origins. They asked themselves, "Where did we come from? Why are we here?" But no one had the answers. They searched for clues, but they found none. They looked to the sky, but they saw no signs of a creator. They were alone in the universe, and they had no history to guide them.

Despite this, the people of this world did not despair. They knew that they had each other, and that was enough. They knew that they had the power to create their own history, and that was what they set out to do. They wrote stories, they painted pictures, they made music, and they built monuments. They created a new history, one that was unique and beautiful, and that belonged to them alone.

And so, the people of this world lived on, content with having no known past, but excited about the future they were creating for themselves. They knew that their history was not one of war and conflict, but of peace and progress. They were writing their history today. They knew that their history was not one of sorrow and suffering, but of joy and wonder as it is this very moment. And in this way, they created a new world, one that was unlike any other, and one that would be remembered for ages to come.

From one period to the next, the one thing everyone knew was that the history they were creating was being created fresh and new. When a person did this or that, another would ask them this… is this the world you want to live in and is this what we want to be our past? A phrase was developed that said all of this, it showed people to always value the present. “Blissful, are we?” And it was both a question and an answer that meant something along the lines of this: Are we writing a history that keeps bliss like bliss or are we trying to destroy this? Is this the kind of place you’d always like to live and if not “that” than “this”…blissful are we.

They developed things similar to what we have on earth, yet strangely and strange to earthlings they had no concept of time itself. The past was more like a joke to them. Everything was happening as it was happening. They would constantly remember that if it’s not happening now, it’s not happening at all. They are a people that have little ups and downs. They remind one another that there really is no past or future, simple enjoy the here and now.

The end.
