The Rose

Roses (pexels.com)

There was this old rose bush in a neighbor's yard years ago that seemed to only bloom peach-colored roses. The neighbor said, "His wife planted that bush before she died and every time it blooms, I think of her. Her favorite color was peach and when I see those blooms she is speaking to me and sharing what she is doing now in heaven. Now, I do not talk back, but one day I will share with her again all the memories that she missed physically for I know she will know emotionally for she is watching over me now.

I love it! I love the sentiment! It's short sad goodness. Since you requested feedback, I'll mention.... When you are quoting the neighbor... change 'his wife' to "My wife... And then close the quote at the very end. I just happened to see this on my feed and I switched to my laptop for another reason. I'll read more of your stories later. ⚡♥️⚡
