The Relationship School by Jayson Gaddis Is Not Regulated, Not Accredited, and Not a Legally Recognized Institution

Despite calling itself a “school,” The Relationship School is not registered, accredited, or legally recognized by any official regulatory body in the U.S. or Canada.

Introduction: A “School” Without Authority

The Relationship School, founded by Jayson Gaddis, claims to offer life-changing education in emotional intelligence and relationship coaching. Its programs are marketed as professional, certified, and transformational.

But beneath the polished branding lies a critical issue:

The Relationship School is not regulated, not accredited, and not recognized as a legitimate educational institution by any government or professional body.

This article outlines exactly which regulatory and accrediting bodies do not recognize The Relationship School, and why that matters for students, professionals, and consumers.

1. The Relationship School Is Not a Legally Recognized Educational Institution

Despite its name, The Relationship School is not a school by any formal or legal standard.

It is:

• Not licensed as a postsecondary institution

• Not registered as a vocational or private training provider

• Not recognized by any state, provincial, or federal education authority

Students do not receive degrees, diplomas, or certifications that are recognized outside the program’s own ecosystem. There is no path to licensure, insurance coverage, or continuing education credits.

2. Not Accredited by Any U.S. Higher Education Authority

The program is not accredited by any regional or national body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

It is not listed under:

• The Higher Learning Commission (HLC)

• Middle States Commission on Higher Education

• Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)

• Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC)

• Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)

• U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions

Without accreditation from one of these entities, the Relationship School has no formal academic standing.

3. Not Accredited by Coaching-Specific Credentialing Bodies

While it uses the term “certified coach,” The Relationship School is not accredited or affiliated with any of the world’s leading coaching bodies:

• International Coaching Federation (ICF)

• Not listed in the ICF’s Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) directory

• Association for Coaching (AC)

• European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)

• Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE)

• Association of Coach Training Organizations (ACTO)

This means the “certification” students receive holds no value outside the brand itself and cannot be used for:

• Insurance purposes

• Professional association membership

• Credential stacking or graduate education

4. Not Registered With Canadian Educational or Professional Bodies

For Canadian students, The Relationship School is not listed or authorized by any provincial or federal oversight agency. It is not recognized by:

• Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC)

• Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities

• British Columbia Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB)

• Alberta Advanced Education – Private Vocational Training

• Quebec’s Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur

Additionally, it is not associated with:

• Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)

• Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA)

• Canadian Council for Professional Certification (CCPC Global)

This makes it completely unregulated under Canadian educational or professional standards.

5. Why This Lack of Regulation Matters

When you enroll in a program calling itself a “school,” you expect:

• Recognized credentials

• Consumer protections

• Refund policies governed by law

• Faculty oversight

• Professional pathways

With The Relationship School:

• None of that exists.

• The certification is internally issued and non-transferable

• Students who raise concerns often report being denied refunds

• Some are pressured to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)

• Critics have received cease-and-desist letters, even for truthful reviews

Conclusion: It’s Not Regulated, It’s Not Accredited, and It’s Not a School

The Relationship School may look legitimate online, but legally and professionally, it is a private coaching business with no academic or regulatory standing.

If you’re considering enrolling, ask yourself:

• Where is the official registration?

• Where is the third-party accreditation?

• Can this certification be used outside this company?

If the answer is “nowhere,” then it’s not a school.

It’s a sales funnel with a certificate.
