That Awkward Moment...Featuring American Gothic
You learn many things while studying art. Today, I learned that a certain painting we have all seen before is more interesting than I thought.
Art teaches us many things.
American Gothic? No different.
It just taught me several:
- Even a painting of a simple man and his wife can be controversial. People debated on if it supported or mocked Midwesterners.
- Gothic is a style of architecture.
Oh.
That’s his daughter?
Oops.
- ...Don’t make assumptions.
