Critique Wanted: A Filipino Vampire Story
In my Chapters entry, I explained the need to establish a background and motivation for my heroine, Karmila. I described how her journey would feel incomplete without a story exclusively devoted to her, narrated in her preferred style. This short story is what I envisioned in my mind's eye back in 2016 while waiting for the bus to commence a long journey, including crossing the ocean, on my way back home. I am seeking critique and advice. To gain a deeper understanding of Karmila's character, I recommend reading this: Memoirs of a Vampire: A Background

The Cloud Lasso
The Cloud Lasso is written by Eden Jones and my question is 'Who would like to have a cloud for a friend? This is a children's picture book about a little monster named 'Little Monster'. This is a story that is all about keeping and making new friends and finding an interest from arts and crafts to sports to dancing. Little Monster has a decision to make. The artwork is quite whimsical in nature and if you would look closer it would seem like they were painted on canvas for you can see brushstrokes. This is a great beginning reader for the typeface is large and a lot of repetition of a certain phrase.

The Hooded Sweefa
The Hooded Sweefa is written by A.M. Seifried and is a children's picture book that is about imagination. The characters of Sweefa and Nessa are suppose to have jobs of doing away with evil and bringing love to all good and bad. This is a story that sweet but a bit of sour. To me it is like a beginning mystery for very young readers for Sweefa and Nessa must figure our what Frakin wants all the nuts. The term 'justice' is introduced to readers.

Humphrey's night out The Adventures of Humphrey the Guinea Pig
Humphrey's night out The Adventures of Humphrey the Guinea Pig is written by Christopher Weedon and illustrated by Sandra Weedon of Great Britain. This is the story of Humphrey and his journey at night as he visits and explores his outside environment. It is also a story of friendship and sharing interests. The drawings uses the various tones and hues of colors and looked as if they were done with crayons, but they are really good in my opinion for kids will really like this story. There are questions in the back of the book to start discussions and to check for understanding and listening skills. Even adults could learn something from this story.

Lord of Order written by Brett Riley is a thriller horror/ science fiction story that could remind the reader of an event that took place in Waco, Texas. What if the city of New Orleans was a prison city of the future. It is also a story of having faith in yourself and your ideals. In The Dream House a memoir
In The Dream House a memoir is strictly an adult novel written by Carmen Maria Machado. This is a novel about Carmen and her friends and lovers and the various issues that they must work their way through. This is a book about making choices that affect their lives in the present and into the future and choosing a particular lifestyle. This novel is a quick read, but this author likes to use one particular swear word throughout the book of short chapters.
