This is the subject that I learned and now reviewing, so that I can offer some Shorthand lessons maybe or even write a story or even a novel using this form of writing. There was a very old magazine called 'The Shorthand Writer' I think that was what it was called, and all their stories were written in Gregg shorthand minus the advertisements.
There is a group on Facebook.com called Shorthand readers and writers where I got this image. I asked the group if it were possible to start a magazine like that now. The leader said that there really is not enough people out that knows this skill now to bother and it would probably be very expensive. Anyway, to be again it would be like solving mysteries and fun. Another idea I had there were several old novels that were written in Gregg shorthand, and I wanted and still am interested in translating old public domain novels into shorthand and if I could get it published still giving the original author credit and the shorthand credit to me. Doing this kind of writing would be fun and interesting and who knows could create an interest in learning Gregg shorthand for other than just business.

I took Shorthand during the same semester I took Typing Class, but I could not tell you the first thing I learned with it. I did, however, learn to type well and correctly, and that has endured through all my professions and writing endeavors.
Wow, I would struggle reading shorthand. Good article!
