Mr. & Miss Love

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Story:

In the bustling city of Serendipity Springs, two strangers, Mr. Love (a hopeless romantic florist) and Miss Love (a pragmatic wedding planner), share the same last name but couldn’t be more different in their outlooks on love.

Mr. Love, whose real name is Oliver Love, believes in grand gestures, serendipity, and soulmates. He spends his days crafting elaborate bouquets for lovers, hoping one day he’ll find his own "the one." Miss Love, whose real name is Emma Love, is a no-nonsense professional who plans picture-perfect weddings but has given up on the idea of love for herself after a series of failed relationships.

Their paths cross when Emma is hired to plan a high-profile wedding at Oliver’s flower shop. Initially, they clash—Oliver’s whimsical ideas clash with Emma’s meticulous plans. But as they work together, they begin to challenge each other’s beliefs about love. Oliver helps Emma see the beauty in spontaneity, while Emma teaches Oliver that love isn’t just about grand gestures—it’s about consistency, trust, and partnership.

In the end, they realize that love isn’t about finding the perfect person but about finding someone who makes you want to be better. The film ends with Oliver and Emma dancing in the flower shop, surrounded by the chaos of a wedding setup, finally embracing their own love story.

Short Film Script:

INT. FLOWER SHOP – DAY

(The shop is filled with vibrant flowers. OLIVER LOVE, mid-30s, is arranging a bouquet, humming a love song. The bell rings as EMMA LOVE, early 30s, enters, holding a clipboard and looking all business.)

OLIVER: (cheerfully) Welcome to Love Blooms! How can I help you today?

EMMA: (flatly) Emma Love. I’m here to finalize the floral arrangements for the Anderson wedding.

OLIVER: (grinning) Love? That’s my last name too! Maybe we’re destined to—

EMMA: (cutting him off) Let’s stick to the flowers, Mr. Love.

(Oliver’s smile falters but he quickly recovers.)

OLIVER: Right. So, I was thinking we could go with a cascading bouquet of roses, lilies, and—

EMMA: (interrupting) No. The bride wants simplicity. White tulips. Nothing more.

OLIVER: (taken aback) But tulips? For a wedding? That’s like serving water at a wine tasting!

EMMA: (sighs) Look, Mr. Love, not every love story needs to be a fairytale. Sometimes, it’s just about getting the job done.

(Oliver studies her, intrigued.)

OLIVER: Sounds like someone’s been hurt one too many times.

EMMA: (defensive) Sounds like someone’s watched one too many rom-coms.

(They stare at each other, a silent challenge in the air.)

INT. FLOWER SHOP – NIGHT

(Oliver and Emma are working late, surrounded by flowers. The tension has softened. They’re laughing over a shared joke.)

OLIVER: (softly) You know, Emma, love isn’t about perfection. It’s about finding someone who makes the imperfections feel... perfect.

EMMA: (smiling faintly) That’s poetic. But life isn’t a poem, Oliver.

OLIVER: (grinning) Maybe not. But it can be a love story.

(Emma looks at him, her walls slowly crumbling. The moment is interrupted by her phone buzzing. She glances at it and sighs.)

EMMA: (standing) I should go. Big day tomorrow.

OLIVER: (standing too) Let me walk you out.

(They step outside. The street is quiet, lit by soft lamplight.)

EMMA: (pausing) You know, you’re not what I expected, Oliver Love.

OLIVER: (teasing) And you’re exactly what I expected, Emma Love. Tough on the outside, soft on the inside.

(Emma laughs, a genuine, warm laugh. Oliver smiles, his heart skipping a beat.)

EMMA: (softly) Goodnight, Oliver.

OLIVER: Goodnight, Emma.

(She walks away. Oliver watches her, a hopeful smile on his face.)

INT. WEDDING VENUE – DAY

(The wedding is in full swing. Oliver and Emma are overseeing the final touches. The bride is thrilled with the tulips, but Oliver sneaks in a single red rose into her bouquet. Emma notices but doesn’t say anything.)

BRIDE: (to Emma) This is perfect. Thank you.

EMMA: (smiling) It’s what we do.

(Oliver catches Emma’s eye and winks. She rolls her eyes but can’t hide her smile.)

INT. FLOWER SHOP – NIGHT

(The wedding is over. Oliver is cleaning up when Emma walks in, holding two glasses of champagne.)

EMMA: (handing him a glass) To a successful event.

OLIVER: (clinking glasses) To love.

(They sip in silence for a moment.)

EMMA: (softly) You were right, you know.

OLIVER: About what?

EMMA: About love. It’s not about perfection. It’s about... finding someone who makes you want to try.

(Oliver sets his glass down and steps closer.)

OLIVER: And have you? Found someone, I mean?

EMMA: (looking into his eyes) Maybe.

(They share a smile. Oliver takes her hand, and they begin to dance slowly among the flowers, the world fading away around them.)

FADE OUT.

THE END.
