One of the most subversive, strange, but brilliant films about the anxieties of fatherhood. So much to unpack here in David Lynch's black-and-white debut. Although not his finest, the strange baby, otherworldly characters, and deliberately slow pace are interesting glimpses into the techniques and elements that made him so influential.

Not me seeing the title Eraserhead and thinking it's a movie about a shark that has an eraser for it's head. Nevertheless, I loved your review! 🍩🥐

👏👏Such an interesting film, very arty and creepy but has soul! Love your awesome critique and so pleased you like Lynch too. I know few that really do. I saw this one late, but now have it on DVD. I just grinned at your ironic..cover picture!! ;0)

I blush to admit that my only knowledge of this film comes from Bo Burnham's "Inside" album (you find the track in question, lol). Suffice to say, I have only a vague concept of what the baby looks like (lol), and no clue what the plot is about. But...David Lynch, huh? It's gotta be weird! Might have to give it at a watch. Intriguing review, Paul. Well done!

  • You already had Lynch's name in there. Subversive, strange & brilliant are nothing but redundancies, lol!

Read his memoir - get the audio book if you can - and I know a lot about the making of this one. Thank you for this, sir!

  • Love this you got the film perfect
