Booking A Reading On Day One Of The New Year

Always for fun and for help in moving forward — Part One from the seer.

At least, that is what I thought I was doing. That is what the Facebook message read. I have gone into places that do exactly that. It is not usually something that needs a booking. It may be a short wait. My experience is that I will walk up to an empty spot where Tarot is advertised and sit down.

This one was fun. I got a personal message letting me know that she takes both of the methods of payment I use most often and that she would work on my reading right away. I sent off the payment of $50. and received a personal message when the reading was complete. She emailed me.

The background story is that I knew her as a baby. My friend, her mother was my first sister friend in high school. I lived with her family in the 10th grade.

Did I get a bargain rate because I am her auntie? No, I’m sure it takes a lot of her time to put together what she must for this New Year Forecast Spread.

Here is a part of what I got back and my comments:

My summary of 2024 — The Queen of Pentacles — In 2024, you were fully present and learned how to live in the moment. You also realized you had almost everything you needed, and had a grateful heart. Well done!

Comments: Yes, it was real close. I learned to live in the moment in my mid 20s, but it was especially important this year during the election.

I go through a gratitude list pretty much daily. I was well aware this past year of how very much I have to be grateful for and at the end of this year, I especially see that.

Career Outlook — Page of Cups — Embrace joy, creativity, and trying new things, and fill your heart with gratitude for all the blessings you have received. Your career is going to be something you truly enjoy and will require you to use your creativity.

Comments: First of all, I’m retired for 9 years now. Working part-time. Well, it is probably a bit more if you include my writing.

Throughout 2024 that I am guessing will flow into 2025, there were presentations to counselors/therapists and others in the field of mental health and substance abuse. Then I attended my weekly group at a mental health crisis shelter.

In August and October, I co-facilitated a presentation for substance abuse and mental health providers at the annual counselor training programs.

In the month of November, I wrote approximately 62,000 words. Not taking more than a few hours a day but every day. Something similar will continue into 2025.

In December, I started writing a book that I received a grant to write. It included a conversation with a person who will be in my book. Driving to her house and back was an easy 10-hour day. We did stay overnight to visit family. I am expecting more of this in 2025.

Throughout the year I have been sent emails asking that I sign up to learn to book and present for corporations looking for female speakers in my state. I’m retired I keep thinking. The incentive is booking speaking engagements that pay.

The current ones I do are more for fun and seeing people I have worked with in the past. They barely cover expenses and time in preparation, handouts, etc. I depend on getting a few good-paying gigs to cover the others. So should I bite? It costs something. No, I’m tired.

That is how my self-conversations go. Then there is this — It is just a good thing there is still social security and I have a pension. Savings are minimal. How much longer will I live anyway? My kids don’t need an inheritance and don’t expect one.

Then I think — I would like to travel to a few places to see family and friends. I can’t afford that. Hey, maybe I should get them to get me a gig so I can visit? No, my brother is a supervisor for machinists, I think.

That won’t work. So that is why I haven’t told them to back off. I can possibly do something with the money. I wonder if they have scholarships?

This Tarot thing can be good for figuring a thing or two out. Stay tuned.

Tarot readings are fun. When I worked as a nurse one of the aides one night knew how to do these and offered on to me. I found out my life was working out the way it was supposed to work. I am continuing to grow and learn in many ways. Good job and good luck in making your many decisions.

I think it's great that you are considering a speaking engagement or two or twelve!
