It all started when Daniel LaPlante started calling two girls. Dan said he was a local teen from the neighborhood and wanted to go on a date with Annie Andrews. After many phone calls, She finally agreed on a date with him and was not too happy when she saw him. She was not interested at all in the young man. He described his looks over the phone as totally different. After the date, she was not going to pursue this anymore. She was going through hard times with her mother passing away from cancer just a few months ago.

It is said that the girls performed a séance to contact their mother. After the séance, the house started to seem to become active. The girls thought it was their mother contacting them from beyond the grave. This happened for a few weeks leading the girls to believe their house was haunted.

One night when Brian, Annie's dad came home one night he had seen the most horrible site ever. He saw someone in his deceased wife's dress and make-up and had a hatchet in one hand. It was Daniel LaPlante. A struggle broke out and Dan got away. Police later found him in a crawlspace built behind a cupboard in Annie Andrews' room. Dan was arrested and charged.

He was released from a juvenile jail in October 1987. Two months later on December 1st, 1987 a man named Andrew Gustafson came home to find his wife dead. Priscilla Gustafson, who was pregnant, died in the master bedroom on the bed after she was shot twice. Her children were also dead William and Abigail. Court records said that William was laying over the tub in the upstairs bathroom and Abigail was found laying over the downstairs tub. They both had been drowned.

They identified Danial as the killer and found him in 1988. He was sentenced to three life sentences for the murder of the Gustafson family.

In 2017 Dan asked for a reduced sentence and during that court hearing, it was the first time he showed any remorse. These were his words.

"Words cannot fully capture what I have done. I murdered three innocent people. Because of me, a five-year-old boy will never turn six. There's a seven-year-old girl that will never turn eight. Because of me, a woman will never be able to give birth to her third child. I robbed an unborn child of his first breath. A husband was never able again to hear from his family, 'I love you,"

"I do not have the words to fully express my profound sorrow. But I am truly sorry for the harm I have caused. From the very essence of who I am, from the depth of my soul, I am sorry."

He was denied parole then and in 2019. psychiatrists insisted he was a man with "no evidence of emotion, no feelings."

This man has no remorse and hopefully, he does see the error in his ways. Can he be trusted to live in society again? Would he murder again if he was released? Let me know what you think. He was only 17 when he was first tormenting the Gustafson family. They say he grew up with mental and sexual abuse. After growing up with that much abuse do you think he will be able to be released and be a productive member of society again? He has been denied parole three times total, I do not think they will let him out. Think they see he may act like he cares but he honestly does not. Let me know in the comments what you think. Thanks for reading.
