We’ve reached the midway point of Wentworth’s final season, and things show no sign of slowing down. Now knowing the truth about her stabbing, Allie plans revenge on the real culprit. Meanwhile, Joan may have a plot of her own, and another major secret is revealed.

Here are the five most important moments from Wentworth 9x05, ‘The Unknown Terrorist’.

1. Joan encourages Eve’s growing connection with Jake

As well as her unlikely friendship with Joan Ferguson, new inmate Eve 'Nanna' Wilder has formed a bond with Officer Jake Stewart. Jake is grateful to Eve for her advice on improving the sleep patterns of his baby daughter, Grace. Joan encourages Eve to nurture this friendship with Jake, to make life easier for herself in the Prison. Eventually, Eve concvinces Jake to smuggle her contraband alcohol.

There could be a couple of reasons for Joan's actions, all of them having to do with Joan's growing didain for Jake. One, is that she knows Eve has a penchant for violence towards men who disappoint her, and Jake's decision to sleep with Ann later in the episode could prove disappointing. The other is that she wants to drive a wedge between Jake and Vera, who is unimpressed when she learns that Jake has been taking parenting advice from a potential murderer.

2. Ann Reynolds continues to antagonise the inmates

Early in the episode, a furious Ann Reynolds berates the Wentworth Officers after discovering footage of showering Wentworth inmates on 'The Slammer', the fetish website that Boomer has been providing content for in exchange for 'genetic donations' from the site's owner, Gavin. In order to find the camera on which the shower footage is being filmed, along with a still missing can of Nitrous Oxide, Ann orders a cell toss, and a strip search. Even Allie, now paralysed and wheelchair-bound, is forced to strip without help.

After closing the protection unit, and more recently introducing the cruel restraint stations, Ann has done little to endear herself to the women, instead becoming a target for their growing anger. Will warns Ann that they may be headed for trouble, but Ann refuses to listen.

3. Allie attempts revenge

After realising that Allie has caught on to the true identity of her attacker, Judy attempts to corner Allie in the shower and finish the job. However, Allie had planned for this, having already informed Boomer, Ruby, and Rita of the truth, and the trio rush to the rescue just in time. After deliberating on how to punish Judy, Rita convinces the rest of the crew to leave Judy's fate to the other women, allowing Ruby to keep her hands clean in the lead up to her parole, and sparing Boomer a potential life sentence. However, Boomer still bashes Judy, claiming she will never forgive her for changing Allie's view of the world.

After paying off an Officer to transport Judy from medical to the dining room, where the Wentworth women drag the traitor outback and attempt to drown her in a wheelie bin. At first, it seems Allie will get her revenge. Until..

4. Judy and Lou make a deal.

Earlier in the episode, Lou refuses a deal to protect Judy, out of respect for Reb's memory, as she was the one who stole the money for Reb's surgery. At first, she is fully on board with the drowning, even orchestrating most of it. However, at the last moment, Lou decides to hear Judy out. To Allie's horror, Lou accepts the deal, unheard by the other women, and takes Judy under her protection.

Soon afterwards, we learn that Judy offered Lou on opportunity to escape Wentworth. Chillingly, Judy states that the pair are going to 'bomb' their way out.

5. Vera finds out about Joan's memories

Suspicious of Joan's sudden friendship with Eve, Vera does some digging, and realises their Blackmoor Prison connection. She asks Dr. Miller to bring up the subject in his session with Joan, but he later claims the questions came to nothing. Beginning to suspect he is hiding something, Vera sends Miller to a consult with Boomer after her bashing of Judy, and takes the opportunity to photograph Miller's file on Joan.

While reviewing the pages later, Vera is shocked to realise Miller has been lying to her. The Freak's memories returned some time ago.

Things on Wentworth are about to blow up.. perhaps literally.
