The Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza was bombed by Israel for the second time in two days on Wednesday, resulting in warnings of war crimes and diplomatic measures from various nations. The Al Quds hospital in Gaza City was also hit by Israeli airstrikes, where up to 14,000 displaced people are currently seeking shelter. The strikes continued into Thursday morning and were reportedly getting closer to the hospital, according to Dr Bashar Mourad, the hospital's director. As a result, more civilians are expected to leave Gaza on Thursday, following the first sanctioned exodus in weeks, which saw injured Palestinians and hundreds of foreign nationals crossing from Gaza into Egypt via the Rafah border crossing.

At the Rafah crossing, Wael Abu Umar, a Palestinian official, informed CNN that 400 foreign nationals, without specifying their nationalities, were scheduled to depart, along with 60 other injured individuals. CNN interviewed six Americans who crossed the border on Thursday.

According to a statement from Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country is making preparations to facilitate the evacuation of approximately 7,000 foreign citizens in Gaza from over 60 countries through the Rafah Crossing.

The devastating second strike on Jabalya resulted in additional catastrophic damage, including the destruction of multiple buildings in the Falluja neighborhood of the camp. Video footage from the scene depicted a deep crater, and people were seen sifting through the debris in search of bodies.

The strike in Hamas-run Gaza was described by the Civil Defense as a "second massacre." Dr. Atef Al Kahlout, the director of Gaza's Indonesian hospital, reported that the airstrike resulted in the death of at least 80 individuals and caused injuries to hundreds more. He further informed CNN that additional bodies were being recovered from the debris, with the majority of the victims being women and children.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the attack on Wednesday specifically targeted a Hamas command and control complex. The IDF claimed that the strike successfully "eliminated" Hamas terrorists, citing precise intelligence as the basis for their actions.

In a statement, the IDF emphasized that Hamas intentionally places its terror infrastructure in close proximity to civilian buildings, thereby deliberately endangering the lives of Gazan civilians.

The camp in an area near Falluja was targeted by Israeli jets on Tuesday, resulting in an airstrike the following day. According to medics, this attack caused the death or injury of numerous individuals, leading to renewed public concern regarding the escalating number of civilian casualties in Gaza.Mohammad Al Aswad informed CNN via phone that children were seen carrying other injured children and running amidst the grey dust that filled the air. The sight of bodies hanging on the rubble was distressing, with many of them unrecognizable. Some individuals were bleeding, while others were burnt.

According to the IDF, the initial strike resulted in the death of several Hamas members, including Ibrahim Biari. The IDF identified Biari as one of the Hamas commanders responsible for the October 7 attack on Israel, which resulted in the loss of over 1,400 lives and the capture of hundreds of individuals. However, Hamas vehemently denied the presence of any of its leaders in the refugee camp.

The United Nations Human Rights Office expressed their concerns on social media, stating that the attacks on Jabalya, Gaza's largest refugee camp, could potentially be classified as war crimes. This assessment is based on the significant number of civilian casualties and the extensive destruction caused by the attacks.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah, the ongoing bombardment of Gaza by Israel has resulted in the deaths of over 8,700 individuals, with an average of more than 300 fatalities occurring daily. The majority of those killed are women, children, and the elderly, comprising over 70% of the total casualties. The severity of the situation has prompted several countries to take diplomatic action against Israel, including Jordan, Chile, Colombia, and Bolivia, which have recalled ambassadors or cut diplomatic ties due to the humanitarian crisis and alleged crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people.

Despite the non-binding UN General Assembly resolution supported by over 100 countries, urging for a "sustained humanitarian truce," the strikes persist amidst mounting appeals for a ceasefire by aid organizations and the UN.CNN has examined video footage from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and social media, revealing Israel's progress into northern Gaza. The footage was compared with satellite imagery from Planet Labs, indicating IDF advances in northwestern Gaza, near the Mediterranean Sea, northeastern edge of the strip, near Beit Hanoun, and to the east. CNN teams in Israel have observed a buildup of troops to the east and northeast of the Gaza Strip, and an increasing number of Israeli army vehicles moving inside the Gaza perimeter, indicating that ground operations are expanding.Hospitals in Gaza are currently facing an overwhelming influx of deceased and injured individuals, causing their staff to work under constant fear of potential air strikes. On Thursday, Israeli fighter jets targeted the vicinity of Gaza City's Al Quds hospital, where approximately 14,000 displaced individuals have sought shelter, as reported by the hospital's director. The strikes, which commenced on Wednesday evening and persisted into Thursday morning, have been progressively approaching the hospital, according to Dr. Bashar Mourad, who conveyed this information to CNN via phone. Furthermore, a strike that occurred on Wednesday in Jabalya resulted in the death of at least 80 individuals and left hundreds more injured, as stated by Dr. Atef Al Kahlout, the director of Gaza's Indonesian hospital. Dr. Al Kahlout informed CNN that additional bodies are still being recovered from the debris, with the majority of casualties being women and children.

The IDF has reported that a Hamas command and control complex was targeted in an attack on Wednesday. The operation, carried out with precise intelligence, resulted in the elimination of Hamas terrorists. The IDF emphasized that Hamas intentionally places its terror infrastructure in close proximity to civilian buildings, thereby endangering the lives of Gazan civilians.

A previous strike in the same area caused extensive damage, leading to harrowing scenes of destruction and loss. Survivors and eyewitnesses recounted apocalyptic scenes, with family members trapped under rubble. An eyewitness described the overwhelming sense of despair, stating that it felt like the end of the world.

Amidst the chaos, children bravely carried injured children and fled, while grey dust filled the air. The sight of bodies hanging from the rubble, many unrecognizable, was a grim reality. Some individuals were bleeding, while others suffered burns. Mohammad Al Aswad, speaking to CNN by phone, provided a firsthand account of the devastating aftermath.

In the meantime, on Wednesday night, the primary generator supporting the Gaza Indonesian Hospital, which is one of the limited number of hospitals catering to the northern region of the coastal enclave, ceased functioning. Dr. Atef Al Kahlout, the hospital's director, informed CNN on Thursday, thereby exacerbating concerns for patients in critical condition.

The hospital holds significant importance in delivering healthcare services in northern Gaza, and the power failure has had an impact on the ventilation systems within the operating rooms, the sole oxygen station in the hospital, and the refrigeration units in the hospital morgue, as stated by Al Kahlout.

On Wednesday, 55 humanitarian aid trucks from the Egyptian Red Crescent, carrying food, water, medicines, and medical supplies, crossed into Gaza through the Rafah crossing. Despite the arrival of 272 aid trucks, the assistance provided is still insufficient compared to the dire need. Unfortunately, no fuel has been permitted to enter Gaza.
