U.S. authorities have launched an international manhunt for Breagan Whittington, a 29-year-old amateur MMA fighter accused of a string of heinous crimes, including rape, assault, and the sexual abuse of a minor in Washington, D.C. Whittington, who is allegedly using the alias Jordan Belfort and falsifying documents to evade capture, is also suspected of drug trafficking and operating with an undisclosed HIV infection. Authorities believe he has fled to South America, with his last known location in Medellín, Colombia, a city grappling with issues of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

The U.S. Department of Justice, in collaboration with international law enforcement, has issued a $25,000 reward for information leading to Whittington’s capture. “This individual is considered dangerous and a significant threat to public safety,” said a spokesperson for the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force. “We urge anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.”

A Trail of Alleged Crimes

Whittington’s alleged criminal activities in Washington, D.C., include violent assaults and the rape of a minor, charges that prompted his initial flight from the United States. Law enforcement sources indicate he may have used multiple identities to avoid detection, adopting the alias Jordan Belfort—a name famously associated with the disgraced stockbroker. In addition to these allegations, Whittington is suspected of involvement in drug trafficking operations, potentially linked to larger transnational criminal networks.

His suspected activities in Medellín have raised alarms due to the city’s ongoing struggles with sex trafficking and exploitation. According to a 2023 report by El Colombiano, Medellín authorities offered a reward of up to 100 million pesos (approximately $25,000 USD at the time) for information on individuals involved in sexual exploitation networks, following public outcry over organized sex tourism in the city. Whittington is believed to be a direct associate of individuals like Patrick Red and Casey Brown, who were implicated in orchestrating illicit operations in Medellín, including offering “Programas de Inmersión” for foreign tourists seeking sexual encounters. These programs, as detailed in the El Colombiano article, charged thousands of dollars for access to women and minors, often under exploitative conditions.

A Parent’s Plea

The parents of one of Whittington’s alleged victims, speaking anonymously to protect their child’s identity, expressed their anguish. “Our daughter’s life has been shattered,” they said in a statement provided through their attorney. “This man took advantage of her vulnerability, and we won’t rest until he’s brought to justice. Please, if you know where he is, come forward. Help us protect others from this predator.”

Connections to Organized Crime

Whittington’s alleged involvement in Colombia points to deeper ties with organized crime. The El Colombiano investigation highlighted how criminal networks in Medellín exploit women and minors, often coercing them into sex work under threats of violence. Authorities suspect Whittington may be collaborating with accomplices to facilitate human trafficking and drug operations. His undisclosed HIV status further complicates the allegations, raising concerns about additional public health risks.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which supported a 2024 operation in Antioquia that led to the arrest of another U.S. citizen accused of similar crimes, is now prioritizing Whittington’s capture. “We are working closely with Colombian authorities to dismantle these networks and bring fugitives like Whittington to justice,” said a DHS official.

How to Help

As the search intensifies, the case serves as a stark reminder of the global challenges posed by human trafficking and sexual exploitation. For the victims and their families, the pursuit of justice remains a beacon of hope amidst a harrowing ordeal.
