EXCLUSIVE: Lil Durk Held In Solitary For 131 Days Over Apple Watch As Lawyers Fight Prison Condition
Lil Durk has been in solitary confinement for 131 days in a Los Angeles federal facility as his legal team challenges the conditions.

The Segregated Housing Unit (SHU) program is intended to protect jail inmates from others or others from themselves at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) among other locations around the country and world.
That’s what was supposed to happen. In Lil’ Durk’s case, he’s been in the SHU since August of 2025.
Allegedly, all of this is due to a contraband Apple watch which Durk had possession of during his stay behind bars.
This is a situation that could lead to psychologically damaging states of being. Did Durk actually have the watch? No one knows.
What can be known is the idea that he has been in the program for so long.
Locked down twenty three hours a day with space just enough for a bed, toilet, and sink, the platinum rapper has had to stomach his existence and continue on despite his conditions.

Durk’s lawyers are calling for a change. They’re fighting that his Eighth Amendment rights had been violated. Cruel and unusual punishment seemed to be what has gone on for nearly five months.
No responses from Durk have arisen but it seems like he’s got the mental fortitude to ride out these latest buffets against his body. But can he maintain his mental stability?
The attorneys know they have a great deal of work ahead of them.
Their abilities to find the stark difference between having Durk in the day room with commissary snacks are extremely important. If they want to see their client in improved situations behind the wall, they need to fight for his increased although still very limited freedom.
Just the question of where that Apple Phone supposedly got into his hands, that should be the sense of what happened going forward. Over the time that he has been in the SHU, Durk’s privileges have been curtailed. If he is to bring an idea of reason to himself, he ought to be writing songs in his head and preparing for that album that might be recorded on lockdown.
With his chances to become a free man pending a trial date and his day in court, Durk has the opportunity to champion the cause for his own well-being.
He could be meditating and getting in tune with his inner self. His harsh upbringing and his time in the limelight have produced in him a thought that he can overcome adversity.

The role he plays in elevating himself in the face of opposition has since been his calling card. Unlike some of his other Chicago rappers, he has retained his life and significant amount of dollars due to his success in the rap game.
For all this time, they tried to break his life and keep him down throughout his travails. He knows he’s famous and that the SHU program might also ironically protect him from other inmates.
SHU has been described as a way that can damage the mind, ruin relationships among inmates, and strain ties between family and friends. He is only allowed to use the phone once a month.
This would’ve been appropriate or at least understandable if he actually had been convicted of the crime alleged against him.
To consider his position in the SHU, he should see that he’s been able to last this long with his wits about him still.
Never mind what happened with the smartwatch. He should be able to think about how he will proceed with the case from here on out until the end.
He once said, “I’ve been to jail, they are trying to chain me up.” Call it reminiscent and prophetic at the same time, he has been able to see his future play out like an NFL game.
