The Killer Numbers
A Mysterious Call Leads to a Terrifying Fate at Midnight

On a cold winter night, Sarah, a 30-year-old woman, was preparing to leave her home for work. She lived alone after the untimely death of her young husband and worked to support herself at a call center, with evening shifts from 8 PM to 2 AM. As usual, she received calls from various clients, but that night, she received a call that was entirely different from the others.
At 1 AM, she answered the phone as she always did: "This is Sarah from the company, how can I assist you?" The unknown voice responded, "Sarah 101," and then the call ended abruptly. Sarah was startled by what she heard, but she assumed it was just a prank from someone with too much time on their hands. After her shift, she returned home and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
The next evening, at the same time, Sarah answered another call. She said her usual greeting, "This is Sarah from the company, how can I assist you?" This time, the voice responded, "Sarah 555," and the call ended as before. Fear began to creep into Sarah's heart as the same situation repeated itself. She felt that something was off, and it might not just be a prank. She tried calling the number back, but there was no answer. She spent the rest of her shift lost in her thoughts, unable to come up with a logical explanation.
Days went by, and the calls continued at the same time, each with a different, unexplained number. The strange and meaningless sequence of numbers became a regular occurrence. She asked her coworkers if anyone else had experienced similar calls, but they all denied it. The mystery consumed her thoughts, and she began to hear the echo of the numbers haunting her at home, their eerie tone making it impossible for her to sleep. The voice seemed to grow louder at night, and she couldn't close her eyes until morning.
Night after night, Sarah's condition worsened. She became pale, distracted, and withdrawn, as if living in a world of her own, separate from everyone around her. The situation escalated when she received another call at 1 AM. This time, instead of a number, the voice sent a text message with three words: "Tomorrow is the final deadline," followed by a chilling silence.
Panicking, Sarah rushed to her coworkers' room, crying and shouting, "What do they want from me? Please, help me!" One of her colleagues, named Hussam, decided to help. After calming her down and hearing the full story, he told her that he knew an elderly man who specialized in deciphering codes and solving mysteries. He promised he would do his best to assist her.
The next morning, as Sarah was still asleep, her phone rang urgently. She groggily answered, and it was Hussam, speaking with a tone of caution and concern. He told her, "Sarah, you need to leave work immediately. The numbers you’ve been receiving are coded. According to the elderly man I spoke to, they mean that you'll be killed by evil spirits if you continue working one more day at the company."
Despite her fear, Sarah made a bold decision. She wasn’t going to let these evil spirits scare her, and she wouldn’t give up the job she had worked so hard for. After all, it wasn’t easy to find another one. To protect herself, she decided to say empowering words to herself every night, hoping to ward off any danger.
She went to work that night, and by midnight, nothing unusual had happened. She thought that maybe her decision was the right one. However, at exactly 1 AM, as she said her usual line, "This is Sarah from the company, how can I assist you?", a gunshot rang out from an unknown location, striking her in the head. She collapsed, lifeless, into a pool of blood. Her secret remained hidden forever, and no one ever discovered the truth behind those strange calls.
