Gangsters Paradise ch. 1
Never had I thought I would've woken up to find my homeboy Doo Doo pounding at the door screamin "Psyco hurry up!!! check me out ese I got a murder charge!" With detectives flooding the street you'd think he'd know to shut the fuck up but that wasn't him. Always loud and always in the mix. I get up out of bed, psst off might I add, from one of the worst hangovers I had ever experienced in my life; just to find myself on the floor after only walking a couple steps. Who could've thought that two ecstacy pills and a couple of 40 ounces of old english could pack such a punch? I stumble to the living room to find my younger brother eating cereal in front of the T.V., I laughed knowing that not even if the house was on fire would he let it get in the way of him and his cartoons. Much less my homeboy, who has on more than one occasion, came over waking everyone up with his bullshit. "The fuck fool? shut the fuck up!" I yelled as I opened the front door. Too eager to stand in one place he pushed through me into the living room. "Dawg you ain't gonna believe this shit, the vatos dead HAHAHA!!!!" He exclaimed... Still fucked up from the ecstacy, I had taken a step back to process exactly what it was this fool just said. "Wait what?" I asked. "Brownies homeboy.... faggot pulled up at the house last night tryna catch a fade after you left and the homie got his ass HAHAHA". Not even a second later I looked out the big bay windows in my living room and noticed two cop cars and a van cruising up the street. "The fuck you come here for?" I shouted. Overwhelmed with anger and paranoia I ran back to my room to hide my Glock 36 and snort any dope I might've left laying around from the night before, I was sure this dumbass led the cops to my fuckin house and it was just a matter of seconds they would bust through the door with a 12 gauge pump pointing it at our heads demanding that we'd shut the fuck up and get on the floor. "Chill out fool its cool.... they been here all morning they got the street blocked off and shit" he said. Confused by his demeanor I stopped and turned around and saw he had a paper in his hand. "Check it out the cops had me at headquarters all morning, they still tryna figure this shit out hahaha". He nervously opened the paper and read out loud where it said "penal code: 187 (dismissed, lack of evid.)". With my heart still beating as if it was about to bust out of my chest, I snatched the paper out his hands. With one eye still looking towards the front door waiting for the jura to make their move. I read it had his name on the top. "What the fuck happened last night? The jura gaffled you up?" I asked. Still in disbelief that the cops weren't looking for this fool I called to my little brother to close the shades on the window. "If anybody knocks, don't awnser!!!" I yelled. "Yea fool I been there all night, they came and got me out my room after that fool got dropped, I'm telling you that faggot brownie had his homeboys pull up last night right after you left, we let the dogs out on their ass haha... Don't trip i didn't say shit i told em it was just a big melee and I got knocked out, and by the time I got up everyone was gone". I could tell he was careful not to mention any names still, even as he was telling me the story so I believed him. "Why the fuck would brownie send fools out here? he's locked up and he still tryna bullshit with us?" I asked with my eyes still glued to the wall behind Doo doo making sure there weren't any shadows passing through the sunlight from the bay windows in the living room. Today is not a day to get locked up I thought. I'm coming down and I hadn't even had the chance to see if there was any beer left in the fridge from last night. "You don't fuckin remember?" He asked with one of the most surprised, yet joyful looks on his ugly ass face that I've ever seen as if to say "you really are a fuckin psycho." As I submerged into deep thought reminiscing of the night before I realized I had blacked out countless times after I had popped that first ecstacy pill. It was as if I was searching through one of those cheap rolodexes you buy at the thrift store with half the letters missing, with every turn of the mental spindle I found my self at the same memory of me at the beginning of the night where I popped the pill without a clue as to what succeeded. Frustrated with myself I lashed out at Doo Doo for standing there like an idiot with that judgemental look on his face. "Fuck you, so you gonna tell me or what?" He stood there for a second trying to figure out if I was being serious or not. The story vaguely started coming to life as he elucidated everything that happened, and it hit me, I had a play in it. Nervous more than anything i looked back towards the bay windows in the living room and seen the cops had put caution tape on either ends of the street. Starting to recollect on everything, I sat at the edge of my moms big black leather couch in the living room. She hated when I had friends over and we sat on that couch but I thought the present circumstance warranted a much needed "time out" from the world around me and everything in it. My thoughts got more vivid and for a brief second I felt numb to my soul, I sat there for probably 2 mins but it felt like a lifetime. My life started flashing before me and immediately after having this predisposed midlife crisis I heard Doo Doo shut the refrigerator door in the kitchen and the rattle of two beer bottles as he walked into the room laughing. "Here ese... cheer up buttercup hahaha".
