Pomp and Circumstance
It was early in the morning; the birds had just begun to sing their songs. Renard walked to the King’s Head Tavern a few blocks east away from the grand bazaar. He entered through the back door, as he was instructed, and entered a dimly lit room with many cloaked figures mingling amongst each other. Sitting at a large oak desk; Ridley Oordeel was spinning a dagger on its tip.

Just A Minute - Prologue
It’s nine in the morning. The sun is barely up on the horizon, slowly coming up as the fog starts to clear on the streets. It’s colder than I thought it’s going to be when I put on a skirt without tights and very thin green coat. I see some cars passing by and some people walking vigorously, probably to work where they spend most of their day. Some of their faces are buried in the scarves and I can only see their tired eyes poking out. On the other side of the road, there’s a woman arguing with a policeman about her tickets for parking at double yellow lines. She is red on the face, almost matching the colour of her coat. Trees are moving lightly to the wind, creating multiple shadows on the path. Some of them look like very twisted creatures, some have a similarity to animals.

Flynn
Chapter 1: Sentenced Sentenced for life. The blaring sirens still ring in my ears as I faintly hear the judge declare the Man’s sentence. Guilty. I know I tried my best to fight for this man and preserve his innocence, but I’ve failed, and the jury decided it best that he is found guilty. He was declared an accomplice to a brutal mass murder and heinous act performed by a cruel man issued the name “The Bull”. The Bull’s real name is Santigo Marco-Florez, but he earned his tag as “The Bull” after he was suspected of many brutal crimes committed for no reason.

Domestic Violence
****WARNING*** This story could be a trigger for anyone who has survived a violence The rain lashed at the windows, coming in waves. Isolated and alone she sat shivering in the cold. Another tear fell down her cheek pulling her knees tighter to her chest. She wanted nothing more than to curl up into such a tight ball that she would disappear, or at the very least, allow the thin, worn blanket to cover her entire person. She dare not move for fear the cement surrounding her would instantly give her frostbite. Perhaps her feet were already ice and instead just shatter upon touching something solid. Any icy inhalation forced another violent shudder down her body. More tears came with each breath of pain.

The Dark Night Rider
It’s a quiet Sunday evening in Japan and a family are gathered around a table, singing “Happy Birthday” to their daughter. The cake in front of her is delicately layered with fudge and sat together in the very centre are two candles, a number “1” and “0”. On the edge there is a rich cream swirled all around, with fresh sliced strawberries sitting perfectly on top. Everyone is cheering except the only eldest son “Katsumi” who staggers upstairs, unimpressed by it all.

Sheila
He was running the vacuum cleaner when the phone rang. A large grumpy looking man made his way across the derelict office. Endless piles of paper work lay on or below nearly every surface all but framing the room. A rug ran down the centre of it from door to window, and despite a few recent stains remained all but pristine. This had been thanks Sheila (well the clean parts anyway) the man's assistant; who he hadn't seen for at least a week.
