Suspect Taken In Alive After Pointing Gun At Ohio Cop, Allegedly Pulling Trigger

When will the facts show?

What is it with white people who point guns at cops? Why did this young male in Canton, Ohio who allegedly got caught shoplifting, aim a firearm at an off duty cop working at a Wal-Mart as a security personnel.

This miscreant is still here even after brandishing a weapon in front of the police officer. He’s able to walk and talk despite his despicable deed.

The police officer brought Shane C.L. Newman into custody on charges of attempt to commit murder, felonious assault of a peace officer, and possession of drugs.

But how is this even possible? Did Newman have the complexion, for protection, for collection? Was he just looked over because of the color of his skin?

If a black doctor had raised his mobile device to his ear, would he have been smoked like a holiday turkey? The sad reality is that it’s open season on black men especially and women of color, too.

What individuals like Newman fail to realize is that his flesh saved him from a certain grave. Hypothetically, a black man would be gunned down like a rabid dog in the street.

His whole life would’ve been cut down just to prove a point.

In a world where young black men keep getting shot and killed by the authorities, where are the stats on how many white men receive bullets based on suspicion?

What is the disparity? In actual fact, white people are shot and killed by police at a higher rate than blacks. While it may seem as if the media covers more blacks getting shot by cops, data point otherwise.

To tell the truth, white people commit more crimes in America and blacks get more coverage for it. By the numbers, there is a direct link between the news bias and the facts.

While Newman’s case seems regular and expected, it is against the trend. He showed himself to be an outlier as he tried to kill an officer of the law. His disturbing behavior is often looked at as a misguided youth while the black youth is shot to death for putting weaponless hands in the air.

So the sensationalism as shown by journalists should reflect the data not the emotion. It’s so easy to claim that all cops do every day is kill black folks. This is so removed from the facts it’s not even a laughing matter.

Newman is just another low life who got caught up in the moment and used feelings over reason. In his most desperate attempt to murder a cop, he fortunately witnessed the gun click when he pulled the trigger. Again, he pulled the trigger. This deliberate action showed how he intentionally wanted to execute this officer.

If he had any wits about him, he’d know that what he did as a shoplifter paled in comparison to an attempted murderer. Why is this not displayed on every news cycle? Why isn’t Newman characterized as a brute who wished to rain down a hail of bullets just to prove a point?

From the video, it looks like he isn’t even stun gunned. He is just tackled to the ground before he gets a chance to let off at least one round.

This scared little boy couldn’t take the fact he would have gotten a slap on the wrist for minor stealing from the supercenter.

But no, America will most likely see this story go into the dustbin of history. It will not be remembered because the gun didn’t go off like Newman expected. In true fashion, blacks will shout for more reform and for anyone with a darker hue or curlier hair and ebony eyes to be treated like whites. At the same time, whites will continue to commit more crimes, be shot and killed, and let media outlets champion the black story. It’s the American way.
