Luigi Mangione

Vigilante Justice

The NYPD and the FBI

"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic." – Josef Stalin

Just when we thought things were getting more and more 'weird' the closer we got to the convict Trump taking over the White House with his unqualified and criminal appointees... A new story breaks that no one can ignore! Center stage: Luigi Mangione assassinates CEO of United Healthcare, Brian Thompson.

I mean, I guess New York would be the epicenter of a crime like this! At first I paid no attention to this story, then America laid eyes on him... First of all, how do you evade NYPD in Manhattan outside of a hotel with black SUV's parked, a bystander (a lady drinking coffee) standing at the entrance, a huge conference about to start, only to pull out a weapon, shoot a person within a few feet away from you, at 6/7am, walk around a parked black suv with a driver most likely sitting in the car, and ride away on a bicycle from the scene, disappearing into Central Park of all places and not get caught!?!

Earth to Luigi

This kid is so nonchalant... Nothing makes sense, nothing adds up... He was a valedictorian, he has a Masters Degree, he's only 26 years old... Not to mention, he comes from a prominent, wealthy family! He may or may not have had a life-changing back surgery in July earlier this year that changed him into a killer, basically. His Mother also nonchalantly called the cops in November to report him as a missing person only to tell the cops, "yeah that seems like something my son would do." Well, I'll be damned!

11 State Charges

The State has charged him with 11 counts and the Feds want to charge him with terrorism and stalking, which could get him the death penalty. Of all the assassins and mass shooters who are home-grown, vigilantes or kids suffering from a mental breakdown, psychosis, aspd or schizophrenia... Luigi faces charges in 2 separate trials between the state and federal courts. It's his first offense 'allegedly' with the most polite manifesto you could ever think of reading... I don't think the crime matches the sentencing but that's just my opinion.

So many guards

What was his getaway plan? Because he couldn't have given it as much thought as he did to the 'operation' itself... He went to Starbucks, exposed his face at the check out (or at a hostel in nyc) then got caught in another state eating at a McDonalds. Not only that, he had all of the evidence on him! The murder weapon, the notebook with his plans and a letter to the Feds, four fake ID's, $8,000 cash which isn't going to get you too far... We don't know if he had a hit list and Brian Thompson was the first one he "wacked..." We know nothing for certain, just a lot of speculation. Allegedly he had surveillance on the CEO, that's how he was able to lay in wait for him to walk into the hotel and take him out before he made it to the Conference. Why throw your life away by taking an absolute strangers life for a cause that you weren't even an expert on explaining? I don't think he even had United Healthcare insurance. I think he just wanted to be a vigilante and so the public calls him a martyr. I call it- Trumps America.

Apparently, Luigi Mangione is a bipartisan commonality. Both sides are fine with him taking things into his own hands... Capitalism vs socialism and all the other ism's that get thrown around by either side, is our new normal. The war is real, we might implode. For once, it's not about race! It's about a perceived injustice and an "insult to the intelligence of the American people's lived experience..." Those were the words he shouted the first time he was entering prison before he was extradited to NYC. I just learned that NYC is not an open carry state. Good for them! I don't agree with gun laws being as accessible as they are in TX and FL. It's scary, especially when kids get their hands on them by accident and the worst imaginable happens, over and over again.

Leaving his arraignment

It seems as though we are going to be allowed inside of the courtroom for his case, since cameras filmed everything yesterday. I wish his defense team the best because the odds are stacked really high against him! I can't see him walking away with anything less than life in prison. Whatever he was thinking that got him to this point, I hope it was worth it because he seems to not realize how much trouble he's in. Life in prison is not where he should've set out to be with all the intelligence in the world, according to his classmates, such a waste!

If we all thought just a little bit more about each others safety- mentally and physically especially... Check in on someone who you haven't heard from in some time, don't let so much time past especially if you know that person is going through something life-changing and traumatizing, like back spinal surgery... Most shooters are male, so pay attention to the young men in your life... Young people in general are growing up in a different world, a much different world than we or our parents did and they deserve our attention. If you can't help, get them help. Don't brush off bullying and try to really be there to listen fully to a young person speak. I want to volunteer for the Crisis Textline/988 again (I did last year) A lot of people I spoke to were 13-15 years of age, some as young as 11. Listening helps, it helps so much! It can be the thing to make a difference in someone's actions, it can be the start of a better choice.

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone reading this! I hope you have a fun-filled, memorable and safe holiday season!
