Ibrahim Mohammed, Bilyamiyu Mohammed, Uche Daniel, and Bello Ahmed

The Story

When Bello Ahmed was in Dubai where he is a resident, he came up with a dastardly plan that he did not know at the time would end him up in jail.

You see, Bello, a 25 year old man was dating an intelligent lawyer named Hannah Queen whose father just so happened to also be a renowned diplomat. According to him, Hannah put so much pressure on him to marry her, but he did not have the funds to do the wedding. So, he came up with a plan.

He left Dubai and relocated to Abuja where his girlfriend lived. While there, he rented a three-bedroom apartment in the same estate where his girlfriend lived in Apo. In Nigeria, Bello had three friends: Ibrahim Mohammed (30), Bilyamiyu Mohammed (30), and Uche Daniel (30).

Speaking among themselves, all four men finalized their plan. They were going to kidnap Bello's girlfriend, Hannah, and extort her family for money to not only pay for their wedding, but also to make themselves richer. According to their eventual confession, they expected to receive a total of N50 million as ransom from the girl's parents. They expected that they would each be able to take home at least N10 million each.

But that was not what happened.

The Kidnap

On March 26 at the Sunville Estate, Apo, Hannah came to pay Bello a visit. Unbeknownst to her, a plan was already in motion. Bello's three friends rushed into the house and immediately staged an invasion. Bello's intention was to make it look like three men had come to kidnap both himself and Hannah.

While they were both in captivity, Bello showed a fake bank alert to make it look like he had wired the sum of N10 million to the kidnappers. The intention there was to make it look like he too was a victim who had paid his own part of the ransom. Now, it was up to Hannah to pay up.

Unfortunately for Bello, Hannah is a smart woman. She realized what was going on and alerted her parents on a call.

This is how their plan was thwarted an all four men were arrested by the Force Intelligence Bureau's Intelligence Response Team.

It was later discovered that Bello was already married in Dubai with two children. He was planning on making Hannah a second wife.

His reported confession reads:

My ex-lover put so much pressure on me to marry her and I kidnapped her in order to raise the money I needed. I regret my involvement in the act.
