Grannies Gone Wild
These grannies aren't the type to bake cookies in the kitchen

Elderly women appeal to us as charismatic, grandma-types who spend their time knitting and baking cookies for all the neighborhood kids. Most fit the stereotypical description but other elderly women in their 60s, 70s, and beyond sometimes fit into a criminal profile. They’re not baking cookies or knitting, but instead sitting in prison cells after committing horrendous acts ranging from bank robbery to rape to murder.

Manchester Woman Beats Neighbor to Death With Hammer
In 2020, police arrested 72-year-old Dalas Elder and charged her with assault after she struck her 73-year-old neighbor in the head with a hammer. The woman later died. The charges against Elder were then upgraded to homicide. However, she was found incompetent to stand trial in December 2020. A judge ordered her to be held at the Whiting Forensic Hospital in Middletown, CT where she'll undergo treatment to attempt to restore her competency.
The victim was found outside an apartment building on the morning of April 23 2019. Police began investigating the incident and using surveillance footage from the building, determined Elder was the person of interest. Police then visited Elder’s home where they found the hammer used in the attack.
She was then arrested.
Anna Mae Blessing
Anna Mae killed her 72-year-old son in Maricopa County, Arizona the two shared after he allegedly threatened to put her in a nursing home. Police arrested Anna Mae in 2018, charging her with aggravated assault, kidnapping, and first-degree murder. Police found the man deceased at the home after the man’s girlfriend called the police.
Anna Mae hid two guns in the pockets of her robe.
The man’s girlfriend witnessed the attack. She told police she heard Anna Mae tell her son she was tired of the way he treated her and was not going to a nursing home. Anna Mae apparently thought about killing her son for several days before she proceeded with the act.
Anna Mae pointed the weapon at the girlfriend but she overpowered Anna Mae and knocked it out of her hand. Anna Mae then sat down in a recliner and patiently waited for police to arrive to arrest her.
As she walked out of the home in handcuffs, Anna Mae said, “You took my life, so I’m taking yours.”
Anna Mae passed away in jail after suffering from a stroke. The charges were subsequently dismissed.
