She ran down the street as fast she could, trying not to knock anyone down. It was 4:55 and she had until 5:00 to get there before they close. “Only one more block” she thought as she was almost there. She had an important package that she had to send off today at the post office. She knew that if she didn’t make it there it would get to Jerry in time. “Yes” she said partly out of breath as she made it there at 4:57. She walked in and went straight to the counter. “How can I help you” the clerk asked, a little annoyed because it was so close to closing time. “Yes, I have a package I need to send to Los Angeles, California.” “Standard or Express shipping?” the clerk asked. “Express” she said as she knew Jerry needed this A.S.A.P.

Jerry woke up in the morning as happy as can be, for today is the day, he is going to marry the love of his life. He went downstairs to start his day. He still had a lot of things to do, as he was walking to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee; he noticed a package at his front door. He opened the door and picked up the package. He noticed it was from his cousin Natalie who lives in New York. “I wonder what this is” He thought as he brought the package in the house. He took it in the kitchen, started a pot of coffee and proceeded to open the package. In it was a little Black Book. He opened it and couldn’t believe his eyes. In the book there was pictures and information about his fiancé Samantha. She was not who she said she was.

Jerry didn’t know what to do. He needed to talk to Natalie to find out how she got all this information. He called her.

“Hello” Natalie said.

“Hey Nat this is Jerry, what's going on? Where did you get all of this information about Samantha from?” He asked totally confused.

“I knew you would call. I have had my suspicions about her ever since we met at your birthday party. So, I did a little digging.”

“I got a private investigator and everything in that book is what he discovered.”

“You could have just called me and told me how you felt, but to get a private investigator, come on.” Jerry said upset

“Would you have believed me otherwise” Natalie asked

He was silent. Jerry knew he wouldn't have believed her Samantha was his dream come true.

“I didn’t think so, I needed proof before I could tell you anything.” Natalie said

“But on my wedding day, you couldn’t have told me sooner?” Jerry yelled.

“I’m sorry about that, but better late than never.”

Jerry hung up the phone on her. He just couldn't believe it. In the book it had pictures of her with all these different men and he found out she was an escort. The whole time they were together he thought she was a nurse that worked overnight. He even was the one paying for all the bills. She was just using him. He confronted her and needless to say the wedding was off. Jerry was devastated. He didn’t want to leave his house. Three months went by and Jerry had gained 75 pounds. Now Jerry was never a small or fit guy, he was average weight and height. Not liking what he had become he decided to do something about it.

Slowly he started to get out of his depression. First, he started going to the gym and eating right. He would only see a little bit of results but not what he was looking for. One day while at the gym he overheard a guy talking about this show that helps you lose weight and you could win a prize at the end. Jerry was intrigued, nothing he was doing really helped and if he could lose weight while on the show that would be great and to win would be even greater. He thought at the least he could get some pointers and find out what he was doing wrong. It was a win(win) in his eyes. He entered to be on the show and was picked as one of the contestants.

The show lasted 6 months. Even though Jerry tried his best while on the show he didn’t win the prize money, but he did lose the 75 pounds that he gained, with an extra 20 pounds. Jerry was feeling good, the best he felt since the whole Samantha thing. When he came back home his friends decided to take him out to celebrate. While he was out, he ran into no other than Samantha.

“Hello, Jerry. Can I speak with you?” Samantha asked

Jerry just stood there in shock he never thought he would ever see her again. He didn’t know what to say. All of his feelings about the break up came back, the hurt and the anger.

“No Samantha, I don’t think that that's a good idea. I don’t have anything to say to you.” Jerry said with anger. How dare she come around after what she did.

“Jerry, I understand if you don’t want to talk to me, but I just wanted to say I’m sorry.” Samantha said with tears in her eyes.

“There isn’t enough sorry in the world for what you did, so save them for someone who cares.” Jerry said as he walked away.

Jerry continued on with his night with no more signs of Samantha. He went home after having a good night. He came in and went straight upstairs because he was very tired and wanted to get some sleep because he had to wake up rather early. He walked in his bedroom took off his clothes and laid in the bed and fell fast asleep. Shortly after He heard a noise and when he opened his eyes there was Samantha standing over top of him with a gun. At that moment he realized that he never got his key back from her.

“Samantha what are you doing.” Jerry asked surprised.

“How dare you just kick me to the curb the way you did. No one leaves me.” she said with a crazy look in her eyes. Jerry tried to grab the gun but it was too late. Samantha pulled the trigger and killed him. Samantha still wanted Jerry and felt disrespected that he didn’t want her back especially since he was looking really good after his time on the show. She was about to leave the room when she seen a bag opened on the chair. When she looked inside there was $20,000 with a letter that said “Thanks for your participation on “How to lose it right” hope you enjoy your constellation prize better luck next time.” Samantha laughed the evilest laugh, looked at jerry on the bed and walked out the room with the bag in her hand.
