Death at the bank

A murder mystery

Something hides in the bank vault

Fictional murder mystery story.

What a shock Bank Manager Carli Grace got when went downstairs, opened the bank vault only to find a dead body awaiting her. It wasn't how she expected her shift to end, especially not after such a long and exhausting day. Only for it to result in such horror was a horrible experience, one that she'd never ever forget! Carli raced upstairs and called the police immediately. When they arrived, an investigation into the murder was quickly looked into. The corpse in question was of a middle aged man, he was bald and fat, wearing a navy blue business suit. There weren't any cuts upon his body, or bruising to be found. Not even body examiners later on, back at the lab, could decipher any external injuries. At first it appeared as though the man had a fatal heart attack, or possibly stroke of some sorts that left him ultimately dead. Then as Detectives began to look into the identity of this man, they discovered that he was named Toni Cipriana, someone who had a lot of enemies within the city of New York.

He was a known mobster in the area, from an Italian American background. An almost fifty year old man, who ran multiple drug rings and protection rackets in the rougher districts of the city. He had the police in his back pocket, paying them off in bribes whenever they got too close. This revelation opened up a whole new theory, that Toni was actually assassinated on behalf of a rival gang. Although his corpse had no traces of poisoning within his blood report, many speculated that he was dosed with an untraceable poison, as there are unfortunately a few out that cannot be traced. Of course, many argued his death was nothing but a coincidence, an overweight man under too much pressure, one simply couldn't handle the immense stress of having too much blood on his hands; karmically dyed by his own heart that couldn't take the horror anymore and gave out, killing him instantly. Another theory suggested that perhaps the bank's vault doors simply closed behind him, while he was inside. The vault wasn't ventilated, so many believed he simply suffocated from lack of oxygen and died that way, others claimed that someone at the bank may have trapped him in their own purpose and "killed" him that way, without actually laying a hand on Toni. CCTV footage was unfortunately broken when when this took place, so nobody has ever seen exactly how Toni ended up in the vault in the first place. Only employees let him downstairs to collect his money, providing him with his vault keys, but there should've been a guard on duty to escort him into the vault. That's when Detectives looked into the security staff that worked there.

There was a guard named Stanley Keyes, he was the one who was on duty the last time anyone ever saw Toni alive, unfortunately he had coincidentally been murdered himself, some time after Toni's death. Yet some claimed he faked his death to get away with Toni's murder, or perhaps the mafia who worshipped their boss, somehow tracked him down and killed him for assassinating Toni. Unfortunately Stanley's body was never actually found, for his murder involved a house fire that contained several burnt up skeletons that were all impossible to identify. His whole family had supposedly died in that Arson, which was committed by masked thugs who were never identified either. Perhaps Stanley torched his own house, with his family inside it, or maybe his entire family staged the fire, replacing themselves with human skeletons that matched their genders and age. Ultimately it was decided that the mafia killed Stanley and his family. With that, the trail went cold. Toni's death was ruled as a heart attack, rather than a murder.

However, new evidence arrived several months later when a new staff member at the bank where Toni was found dead, had to go into the bank vault to make a few security checks. This man was named Gerry Simpson and he had an allergy to nuts. So when he began to sneeze violently, swell up and choke, security guards noticed and brought the man out of the bank vault. Gerry soon recovered after being taken outside, he knew instantly what had caused that reaction, there must've been traces of nuts in the bank vault. Nobody had ever realised that within the locked safe where Toni's money was held, there were traces of grounded nut sprinkled into the dust particles. As it turned out, Toni also had this allergy, so the moment he opened his safe, he would've been assaulted by this and that was what led towards his death! So that's what caused the murder, but to this day, nobody can truly say who the murderer actually was. It seems obvious to most that it was indeed Stanley, who either faked his own death or was later killed by the mafia, however nobody can truly determine if that is the case.

This murder happened in 2018, to this day, the case remains unsolved and still open to debate. Toni had a lot of enemies, any one of them could've been behind his demise.
