Kim’s fireplace crackled and delighted its sole occupant. She cozied up with a good book and pens and pencils with an overhead light beaming down on her. The trail of the women consisted of mainly 25-35 year-olds who had professional jobs, managers of stores mainly nail salons and massage parlours.

They seemed to be drawing in these guys when they weren’t being murdered. Often, the would pick a guy and say, “have me flown to Wilmington, Delaware.” And the guy would do it. Guys would shell out up to $1500 just to see the face of the girl in person.

Kim kept reading about the profundity of crypto. The who world of crawling and mining opened up new pathways for her. If her gigs as law school professor and bestselling author didn’t pan out, she at least could get in on the crypto action.

This secret sleuthing actually made a pang in her mind. She felt that she needed to be on the force now. She’d have to wear a uniform as deputy police chief, though. She preferred her suits.

She snapped back to the case at hand. She knew she could keep her focus if she stayed with the story. Young, yellow female with her life ahead of her. Each of them had that story. Each of them represented an array of ideals: atheist, Catholic, undecided.

They, for the most, visited the First State. Some took the money and ran with it. But the women who chose to explain in person the intricacies of cryptocurrency end-to-end ended up missing.

Kim desperately wanted to get to know what the draw was besides the obvious with the new kind of trading tool. She figured that it was still taxable and that the women found themselves in more trouble than they expected when this guy told them he was prepared to start using the crypto.

In all of the cases, this particular one bewildered Kim. Of the women who chose to take the flight, they seemed precocious and open to the idea of meeting a total stranger always at his house, wherever that may have been.

She looked at how the women usually had English names like Esther, Jamie, or Helen. Then the guy would learn that her real name was always Zhang, Biao, or Ling.

When she looked at the number again, Kim tried to keep in mind that there was a life behind these profile pictures. Real people, behind the facade, too. Their obscured faces only deepened the mystery. What made it even more frustrating was that there had been crypto conferences in Wilmington over the past few months. A great deal of these women who fit the description of the missing ones, showed up at these conferences.

To take into account the various ways the women could’ve been murdered possibly, Kim had to own up to her own negligence. She had not prepared herself to tackle this case. Or at least provide enough intelligence for the authorities to do their jobs.

These women were someone’s daughter, sister, cousin, neighbor. They deserved to be considered as human beings. They deserved to have their stories told. Kim ensured that they would have justice. Whoever was involved in their coming up missing was beneath humanity. He chose to live as a loser slumming in the shadows of iniquity.

With the information she had available to her she expected to say the male was not deranged. He calculated his actions. He knew about the crpyto and how the women had learned about it. He must have skimmed over the literature. That alerted Kim.
