When Gabby Petito disappeared, the world knew in their hearts her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, was involved. It was obvious, although without bodies or other proof of his involvement, we were left with our mere speculations alone. After Gabby’s remains were located in Wyoming in September 2021, we again knew Brian was involved but still lacked the proof. An autopsy confirmed Gabby died of strangulation as the result of homicide.

In October 2021, police located the remains of Brian Laundrie. Nearby his body was a notebook and several other personal belongings. An autopsy confirmed Brian died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Eight Notebook Pages Released to Public

Both the Laundrie and Petitio families were given access to the contents of the notebook. Now, the Laundrie family lawyer has released eight pages from the notebook.

In the eight publicly released pages, Laundrie confesses to murdering Gabby, giving us the proof we needed all these months. Yet, like most cowards who hurt their partners, Brian attempted to take blame off of himself, claiming he thought Gabby wanted to die after perhaps suffering a hiking injury, and took her life out of mercy.

After confessing to the murder, Laundrie writes that he killed himself because he could not go on without Gabby in his life.

The following pages are from Laundrie's notebook.

“I panicked. I was in shock. But from the moment I decided, took away her pain, I knew I couldn’t go on without her.”

He claimed that Gabby suffered “an unexpected tragedy: while they were hiking back to their van while parked in Utah.

“I hear a splash and a scream. I could barely see. I couldn't find her for a moment, and shouted her name. I found her breathing heavily, gasping and (illegible) was freezing cold.”

…”I don’t know the extent of Gabby’s injuries, only that she was in extreme pain,” Laundrie continued writing.

“I am ending my life not because of a fear of punishment but rather because I can’t stand to live another day without her. I’ve lost our whole future together, every moment we could have shared. I’m sorry for everyone’s loss."

"I'm sorry to everyone this will affect. Gabby was the love of my life but I am now adored by many. I'm so very sorry to her family, because I love them."

On the last page of the notebook, Laundrie wrote in a different ink pen than used to write the other entries:

"Please pick up all of my things. Gabby hated people who litter."

Notebook used to Garner Sympathy for Laundrie's

Pat Relly, attorney for Gabby’s parents, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, says the notebook pages the Laundrie family released were in an attempt to garner sympathy for Brian and his parents.

"The words of that notebook lack contrition and contain a false narrative of the circumstances of Gabby's passing," Reilly said. "We expect in the near future that at least one other confession with a different scenario will be released."

Schmidt was none-too-happy about the release of the notebook pages -which she and Joseph previously read- posting the caption “FED UP” with a post about Narcissists.
