A woman who lives in Minneapolis didn't hesitate to confront BLM protesters on Saturday after they gathered in her neighborhood. The protesters were demonstrating after the fatal officer shooting of Andrew "Tekle" Sundberg.

However, the woman felt she had plenty of reasons to voice her displeasure with the protest that was going on. According to her, Sundberg had tried to kill her during an incident that preceded the standoff he had with police.

What are the details?

Officers responded to a call from a Minneapolis apartment complex last Wednesday. Arabella Foss-Yarbrough, the resident, had called 911 and reported to law enforcement that someone had got into her apartment and then fired gunshots inside the residence.

Foss-Yarbrough and her two kids, aged 2 and 4, were evacuated by officers, as were several other residents in the complex. Officers negotiated with Sundberg for about 6 hours, urging him to surrender. Police snipers fatally shot the man early Thursday morning.

Officials have not yet revealed why they needed to use snipers to put an end to the standoff, according to The Blaze. The man's family and close friends said he was going through a mental breakdown.

What took place over the weekend?

Several protesters gathered in front of the apartment building where Sundberg and Foss-Yarbrough lived on Saturday. They demanded answers for what they felt was "another unjustified police killing," according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

At one point during the demonstration, the mother showed up and decided to forcefully confront the people gathered there.

"This is not ok. This is not a George Floyd situation. George Floyd was unarmed. My kids had to deal with this and may have a mental illness now because they almost lost their lives. There are plenty of bullet holes in my kitchen; he sat in the hallway watching me move," Foss-Yarbrough told them.

When one of the BLM protesters condemned the mother for speaking out, she pointed out exactly why she was upset.

"He tried to kill me; it was in front of my kids," she told everyone outside the apartment complex.

Trahern Crews, who is a leader of Black Lives Matter Minnesota, contributed to leading the protest that took place on Saturday.

"We're here to respect life, demand justice, and we're demanding the release of the body cam footage," he said for the Star-Tribune while the demonstration was going on.

Civil rights attorneys Ben Crump and Jeff Storms have reportedly been retained by Sundberg's family. They also represented George Floyd's family, winning a $27 million settlement for wrongful death from the city of Minneapolis.

"No information was given as to why Tekle, who had been isolated for hours, suddenly needed to be executed. We call on the Police Department to provide the family with video evidence and other information necessary to answer this question," the attorneys stated about the tragic incident.

They said that Sundberg's family denies the narrative concerning police department efforts undergone in collaboration with the man's relatives. The exact reasons that led to the shooting remain unclear for now.

The Minneapolis Police Department has been scrutinized for years due to allegations of racism and brutality, per CBS News. The murder of George Floyd in May 2020 caused federal and state investigations focused on the department and sparked nationwide protests.

At the beginning of this year, an investigation undertaken by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights concluded that there'd been a pattern of race-fueled discrimination throughout the department during the past decade.

The officers who shot Sundberg have been identified as Aaron Pearson and Zachary Seraphine. They are both members of the SWAT team.
