3-Year-Old Keep Self, Infant Brother Alive After Parents Murder-Suicide

Two children were left home alone after their father killed their mother & shot himself. The kids survived in the home by themselves for three days. Police have hailed the girl as a "hero."

David Kooros Parsa was 46-years-old when he shot his 38-year-old wife in the head as she slept in the couple’s bed. He then fatally shot himself in the head. The couple’s two children, a 3-year-old girl and 2-month-old boy, were in the home at the time.

For three days, the 3-year-old cared for herself and her infant brother the best she could. She did enough to keep them both alive until Los Angeles police made the horrific discovery.

Worried Father Calls Police

David’s father called police in April 2019 when he did not hear from his son for several days. He told police his son suffered from depression and other mental health issues and requested a welfare check at the home.

Police visited the Parsa home early that morning. Finding nothing amiss, they left the property. They phoned David’s father telling them nothing was wrong. The father knew better, as parents have special intuition when it comes to their kids.

Police Arrive Back at the Home; Horrific Discovery

Hours later, police were summoned back to the home after neighbors and the landlord entered the home at the request of David’s father and found the bodies and the kids alive and alone.

The group found the 3-year-old standing by the door “in a daze.” She reeked of urine and was hungry and dehydrated, but nonetheless alive. Her brother laid in his crib. When they asked the girl where her parents were, she told them they were upstairs sleeping, but added they were hurt.

She told the neighbor that she heard her mommy crying and said that her mommy was “broken.”

Group Find Bodies

The group searched the home and found the bodies of David and Mohoko in the bedroom. They called the police. In the meantime, the neighbors took the kids to their home and cleaned them up and fed them food.

The neighbors heard David and Mohoko arguing several days before the gruesome discovery.

"Our little angel was able to keep herself and her brother alive. She is a hero in my eyes," said Los Angeles Police Captain Maureen Ryan.

Children Adopted by Relatives in Texas

The children were placed in the care of the Department of Human Services after a checkup at an area hospital. A relative in Texas later adopted the children. Police said they had no indication suggesting the children witnessed the murders.

Thank goodness this little angel kept herself and brother alive and of course. David’s father probably helped save their lives by being a concerned father. This story is very sad but at least the kids did not suffer for the mistakes of their parents.
