Serial killers aren’t just a problem in America. Here are three murders from abroad that have still have not been captured.

Brazil’s Rainbow Maniac

From February of 2007 to August of 2008. 13 people were killed in Paturis Park in Carapicuiba, Brazil. Each of them but one was murdered execution-style with bullets to the head. Additionally, they were all found dumped in nearby bushes with their pants down around their ankles. One of the victims was beaten to death and another, the last, was shot 12 times.

All thirteen of these men were gay. In this area at the time, many ultra-conservative groups spoke out against homosexuality. These murders were an obvious attack against the gay population in São Paulo.

In 2011, a suspect was arrested. The suspect was a retired police officer by the name Jairo Francisco Franco. At least one witness said they had seen Franco shoot a black gay man twelve times in Paturis Park. He went to trial for the killings but was not found guilty. It is very possible that the Rainbow Manic was set free..

Ibadan Forest Serial Killers

This one is particularly chilling. It sounds like something straight out of a horror movie. This tale is so dark that the Soka Forest became known as the Evil Forest or the Ibadan Forest of Horror.

In Nigeria’s Ibadan Forest in 2014, a motorcyclist discovered what looked like a decrepit colony. What he found has horrified the entire world. There were over 20 bodies and hundreds of human skulls found. Another 20 people were rescued from the forest. Those rescued had been chained up and looked to be emaciated.

Another building was found containing household items. Clothing for both adults and children was found in the building, as well.

One theory about these murders is that kidnappers and ritualists had brought these people to the forest to sacrifice them. Some of the politicians in Nigeria use human flesh in rituals and have even been known to consume it. It is a possibility that the government had played some sort of role in these kidnappings and murders, but there is not enough evidence to prove it.

The Maniac with Dull Eyes

Also known as the Danilovsky Maniac, the Maniac with Dull Eyes terrorized the city of Cherepovets in the Vologda Oblast, Russia. Between 2004 and 2007, he is believed to have committed 7 murders. He is thought to also be involved with a series of killings of young girls between 1999 and 2003 and another murder that occurred years later in 2010. The nickname of the Danilovsky Maniac comes from the name of the street on which the construction site where three of the murders took place was located.

In February of 2004 a 17-year-old girl named Marina Ostrovskaya, left work for a lunch break. While taking a shortcut through a vacant lot on Danilovsky Street, Marina disappeared in broad daylight. She would not be found until 2005 after Svetlana Stepanova had been drug away from her friends. They saw a man dragging Svetlana’s body into some bushes. The officers who arrived at the scene searched an abandoned building of the District Department of Internal Affairs. The building was on an abandoned construction site. The remains of Marina Ostrovskaya as well as another named Lyudmila Miroshnichenko were found in an underground garage. Their bodies had been thrown into a concrete pit filled with tires.

This killer earned his name from descriptions from witnesses in a later murder. A man told police he saw a strange man in dirty clothes and glasses pass near the place where the body of Natalya Zakalova was found. The murder was probably close to50 years old and about 5 feet tall. He seemed to have many bald patches as well as patches of grey hair on the back of his head. The killer was described as having a blurry look. Students and teachers from a school near the abandoned building where the other bodies had been found claimed to have also run into a strange man. He was painting pornographic pictures on the walls of the correctional school. They also said the man have a strange look.

The women murdered by the Maniac with Dull Eyes range from the ages of 17 to 31. Each and every one of them had been sexually assaulted before their death. On walls located near the bodies, pornographic drawings were found; the Maniac with Dull Eyes’ calling card.

His victims include Marina Ostrovskaya, Irina Popova,Tatyana Baeva, Tatyana Maksimova, Lyudmila Miroshnichenko, Svetlana Stepanova, Natalya Zakalova

In 2008, over 200 people had been interviewed in connection with this case. Police announced a reward for anyone that could help them catch the murder. Still, he has not been found or arrested. He is likely still out there to this day.
