13-Year-Old Fatally Shoots 14-Year-Old Sister After Botched Robbery
The teen now faces murder charges

A 13-year-old Atlanta teen who made and sold ghost guns shot and killed his 14-year-old sister after a sale gone wrong. He now faces life in prison after police charged him with the death.
Scott Manufactured & Sold Ghost Guns
Wilson Brandon Scott III illegally made and sold ghost guns or untraceable semi-automatic weapons. He sold the weapons online. Two men contacted Scott expressing interest in buying a gun from the teen. Scott gave the men his home address and they agreed to meet to make the sale. That’s when things took a tragic turn.
A Sale Gone Wrong
On November 27, 2021, two men met Scott at his home. The men attempted to steal one of the guns from the teen. He opened fire, accidentally striking his sister rather than his intended targets.
The men fled the scene as family members placed the sister, 14-year-old Kyra Scott, into the family car and headed toward an Emergency Room. Paramedics and police en route to the home were redirected and met the family at a gas station.
Don’t Die!
Scott jumped out of the car, frantically crying and screaming. He yelled to his sister, “Don’t die,” “Don’t die,” as paramedics pulled her lifeless body from the car.
"They pulled her out and she was lifeless. You could tell that she wasn’t breathing. There was an officer nearby who helped with taking her out of the car and they were holding her up on the ground," said Jaquan Straughn, who was in the parking lot at the time.
"She had a little brother who was going irate. He was going crazy seeing his sister not breathing. He was saying, ‘Don’t die. Don’t die,’ repeatedly," Straughn said.
Scott admitted to shooting his sister. He provided the police with a full statement of the events that unfolded, leading to her death.
Police Make Arrests in Case
Police caught up with one of the suspects in the robbery. They’ve charged 19-year-old Yuself McArthur El with murder. The other suspect remains at large, although police provided no additional information about the individual. Scott was also arrested, charged with murder as well as illegally manufacturing and selling the semi-automatic weapons.
"Kyra Scott's death is a tragedy of epic proportions. it's an unspeakable loss for her family. This loss is absolutely senseless and many are grappling as to how this could happen," said District Attorney Dalia Racine.
GoFundMe
The family has a GoFundMe page set up to help cover funeral expenses if you would like to contribute to help the family. Thus far, the GFM has raised more than $19,000.
My Thoughts
Just curious to know if the parents knew the teen was selling illegally-made guns? They were obviously at home to have rushed Kyra to the hospital. Regardless, very sad case. The father has lost both of his children, sad that kids think guns are toys, sad people do not appreciate life more. Rest easy, Kyra.
