I am in Japanese class and the Japanese teacher is scolding everyone about the test. I am correcting everyone's wrong answer they are blurting out while writing this so I am like, just not in the mood. I understand her frustration though, I mean I don't really get to practice Japanese anywhere except with Yukki san, but he is talking in a stream and it is just.. yea.

Even with Reo, it seems due to all his stress, he is very much in his English mind and doesn't even feel like talking to me in Japanese most of the time. He did teach me a few new words though so, I am grateful for that, and I don't want to push him to do things he doesn't want to do. Plus he is very encouraging outside of that so, it really is enough. It is more that I need to find more outside sources to practice.

It is Friday now, I woke up at 3am with a stomachache and was straddling the toilet for a few hours. I was so tired though, I just wanted to sleep. I ended up cancelling with Teresa to go to the gym.

Also, something happened in the Japanese club discord. Basically I called people out on not studying and being over all lame but, I offered people to study. Then the president posted this in the main chat without even approaching me directly about it:

I just want to take a moment to remind us that this space is meant to be a supportive and collaborative environment for all of us. While it’s okay to share opinions or frustrations, it’s important that we do so respectfully and remember that we don’t always know what others may be dealing with outside of class.

Comments that come across as degrading or dismissive, even if that’s not the intent, can make others feel less than or discouraged and that’s not what this space is for. We all learn, struggle, and grow at different paces. Many of us put in a lot of effort behind the scenes that may not always be visible.

Additionally, it’s not appropriate to bring up or discuss feedback or comments instructors have made about other students. That feedback is between the instructor and the individual student and shouldn’t be used to make comparisons or as leverage to find study partners.

Let’s continue to keep this a safe, respectful place for everyone to ask questions, study, and support each other. As adults and students, we’re all accountable to the student code of conduct and to maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep this space constructive for everyone.

Basically, he was making some sort of ploy to curry favor with everyone in the group. I debated whether I should approach him with anything but after a few drinks, I eventually decided to post in the council chat. Andrea replied and told me that I was being disrespectful and all that, and I sort of told her in Japanese, which she can't even fucking understand despite being a council member, to sort of shut the fuck up because this was a discussion between me and James.

Either way, it is fair enough to say I am probably not going to Japanese club on Thursday. I did tell James, who was completely quiet for the whole conversation, that he could talk to me after class on Thursday. If we have a test, that might not happen since people just leave right after and there isn't like.. room for discussing anything but, if it is a normal day, I doubt he'll have the balls to actually confront me on anything.
