Weight - it is a very sensitive topic but one that we as people are hyper aware of. When a person begins to add or lose weight, we take notice of it. When a person starts seemingly losing a lot of weight over a short of period, it is often a cause for concern and leads people to worry for them.

Nigerian rapper, M.I. Abaga, one of the best emcees out of Nigeria is a man who since he burst onto the scene has always had his signature look. M.I. isn't fat neither is he skinny. He's always been somewhere in the middle. Not anymore.

Recently, M.I has been posting more and more pictures of himself where he seems to be looking a lot thinner. Here are some pictures of M.I. before:

And now here are some pictures of M.I today:

Fans particularly got worried for the rapper after he posted a video advertising a grant for creatives. In the video, M.I looks a lot skinnier than we as fans have ever seen him and the drastic difference couldn't be ignored. Here's the video M.I posted.

Instagram users immediately began worrying for M.I with people commenting and saying: "Hope MI is good?! Take care of yourself champ!", "Boss hope you are ok 🙌stay bless king 👑", "Weight loss coach soon👏👏👏👏👏👏", "Looks like Uncle MI's head in another person's body", "Why are you losing weight ??? 😢😢😢" and more.

Now, after reading all the concerned messages and comments, M.I decided to finally clear up the air about his weight loss. Here's what M.I said about why he's losing so much weight.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter to finally address all the worries and concerns once and for all, M.I Abaga posted a tweet saying about his weight loss:

So first of all.. I’m fine!

been running for two years and intentionally dropping weight. It has been a hard and long journey but I didn’t want to hit 40 at my former weight..

Thanks for the concern everyone. I’m fine.. I’m well.. I’m flourishing

Looks like M.I is intentionally losing this much weight so fast. Wow! People are conflicted about the fact that M.I. is intentionally choosing to lose weight. One Twitter user wrote saying "Me I preferred your former weight Oooooo" while some other users tweeted saying: "Nice one M. Knew it had to be exercise, immediately I saw you on Tayo's interview. Fit body, sharp mind."
