Void of all emotions

At the end of it all you come out either broken or void of emotions.

There are people capable of looking you in the eyes, crying to you with all their heart and still betray you at the end of the day. Even while appealing to your humanity, even while begging you on their knees and making you all sorts of promises, they will still deliberately choose to stab you in the back.

I grew up in a Christian environment where certain things were very uncommon, we definitely had liars and cheaters, but that was the exception not the norm. Stepping out in the world, I realized how easy it is for people to say one thing to your face, then turn around and do the exact opposite. How easy it is for people to try to hijack your empathy as long as it profits them. There are all sorts of evil in this world, it will take a whole book for me to begin to start describing them, so much evil in the world.

You can imagine that going through all this is a roller coaster of emotions, between the lies, manipulation, betrayal, vested interests, wickedness and much more at the end of it all you come out either broken or void of emotions.

It’s difficult to trust when it has been broken so many times, to love when you’ve been betrayed so often, and to show empathy when you’ve been taken advantage of countless amounts of times. Through all this you learn, grow and become this person who seems so cold and wicked yet is just a product of all the unfortunate events in his life.

This is another important reason why it’s important to be a Christian because it’s the only place where you can go through such trauma and still come out the same loving and caring person. Where you can be beaten time and time again yet still find the courage to love and trust, where it doesn’t matter what the other person does, you are still full of love, compassion, and mercy towards them.

The world is how it is, difficult for us to change it, the only thing we can do is to find ways to cope with it as it is without losing too much of who we are

There is no other realm where this is even remotely thinkable, we live under the premise where we seek to protect ourselves at all cost, and we’ll go to lengths beyond imagination to do just that. In the past, humans traded and even killed their own kind for profit, it pales to comparison today. The best advice I can give to anyone will be for them to become a Christian because there is no better way to deal with all the trauma, heartbreak, and deception this world has in store for us.

Conclusion

There is nothing happening that is new to man, at this point we are just going through the motions, repeating the errors of the past over and over again. I get a lot of déjà vu vibes from all of this; someone betrayed you, next thing you fall into a cycle of hatred and vengeance. This ends up making you a cold beast who hurts everything which comes close to it. How about we try things differently, how about we take a different path for a change?
