Traumatic Experience With My Motorola Razr 40

Along with the worst customer experience I’ve ever had

I loved the idea of the flip phone because it reminded me of the phone I had as a teenager. I also liked how they reminded me of the old Gameboy advance SP consoles that I spent countless hours on after school. I was so excited to get one because it looked so cool and beautiful. Sadly the gimmick and faze did not last as I was tainted with nothing but problems.

I had a Motorola razr 40 for my birthday last year. I’ve only had it for a year and a half and I have to return it every couple of months. In total, I’ve had to send it back 3 times cause the screen kept glitching, showing lots of lines and a constant problem with the phone overheating and crashing and loading slow and not charging properly.

On holiday the overheating got so bad i saw the smoke coming out. I contacted them cause the screen became unreaponsive and then black and the phone screen protector was coming off peeling and bubbling (pathetic flimsy thing I must say) and they rang me a week after I wrote in and they made me full a form out over the phone. The tone some of the customer representives I got through to was aggressive, barely spoke English and I think constant things were miscommunicated and missed out. I was confused why they didn’t ask me to send it back like the last few times and order a DHL label.

Prior to this I saw nothing but praise for these phones and how they were all the range and the best thing since sliced bread. The trust pilot reviews now are shocking and Motorola seems to have gone down hill so bad. On Reddit everyone is saying the same thing: screen protector hinging, lines on screen and overheating.

After a few days of hearing nothing, I reached out a few times whilst they had they had to refer the case to supreme management and it took a whole week and every time I tried to message or contact they said a decision was still being made and they cut me off.

Well a week later they got back to me calling me a liar and will only offer a chargable repair even though the phone is in warranty and accidental cover was bought on it and insured. They don’t even care that the phone nearly caught fire and could have killed me. all they say is we only offer charagble repair and cut me off. Everyone agrees that it’s disgusting the way I’ve been treated. I never want a flip phone or Motorola again.

I am using my old iPhone 8. I’ve had it for around 10 years I think, Pogo crashes constantly on it but everytime else is alright. It’s a phone that seems to have outlived all the other phones I have owned in the past.

I believe the £600 quote for repair is a complete scam. They clearly don’t care that my phone nearly caught fire. They know they have sold me a bad device and they claimed to have had it replaced. It is clearl that they didn’t. Since they have no intention of helping me and gaslighting me, I have no choice but to tell the whole world how much my experience with them has traumatised me.

My parents even want to argue with them but nothing will get done cause they said supreme management have made their final decision. Any damage to the screen protector makes the warranty and insurance bill and voice and the screen protector is poor quality. This is how they get away with scamming so many people.

I have a lot of my photos and music backed up, but the other games I downloaded to play, I will have to re-download cause I will never be able to access them again.

Thankfully I did not get hurt physically my hands did get hot, but I’m left reeling in anger with them. It’s not even worth stressing out over them anymore.

What carrier is that? Did you show them your receipt that the repair or replacement is covered. They know that you won't sue them. I really dont like it when companies take advantage of customers. Calling you a lair is bad customer service. I hope you never bring them business again!
